Security vs Delivery - How wild is it out there?

Very simple question for those who are actually building for business owners out there - How much is actual security and governance being ACTIVELY encouraged and considered a priority vs simply delivering the project ASAP. It feels like (looking from the outside as an ex-Systems Engineer) that many, many business owners are going greedy, in that they are expecting silly fast results for AI projects which has typically meant that data and app security takes a backseat to just shipping rapidly.
