Paying for API credits in claude code?

Hi! I've been learning claude code for two or three weeks now and at the moment I have only used it by paying for credits for tokens usage. But I am right now taking the 10-hours course that nate took out and he always talks about using the monthly subscription. I've tried to ask even gemini and google it's difference and which option is the best but I can't find the answer.

The problem is that I am afraid that with the pro subscription (17€/month) I would run out of credits but the 100€/month subscription is too much for me to pay at the moment so I don't actually know what to do.
