It’s been over two years since the release of n8n 1.0, and the platform has grown incredibly since then into a go-to solution for automation and AI orchestration.

Today, the team officially announced n8n version 2.0—promising their "best n8n ever." This new version is focused on making the platform more mature, secure, and reliable than ever before.

Here is a quick rundown of everything you need to know:

🔥 What’s new in v2? The feature we've all been waiting for... Autosave is finally coming! (It will launch shortly after the stable release).

You can also expect:

An improved canvas look and feel.
An updated sidebar.
More surprises coming soon.

📅 Timeline

Beta v2.0.0: Scheduled for early December (Dec 8th).
Stable v2.0.x: Scheduled for mid-December (Dec 15th).

⚠️ Breaking Changes & Migration To improve security and performance, this release includes necessary breaking changes.

Don't worry: They have prepared detailed documentation for migration. Furthermore, if you are a Global Admin on version 1.121.0 or higher, you already have a Migration Report tool in your Settings to see exactly which workflows need attention before upgrading.

Quick Notes:

✅ These updates apply to ALL versions: Community, Cloud, and Enterprise/Business.
🕒 Version 1.x will continue to receive bug and security fixes for 3 months after the v2 release, but no new features.
