I need some guidance

As someone who is very new to all this and in the stage of watching tons of YouTube videos and reading lots of articles does anyone have anything they suggest so I don't waste time or thought on unreliable sources. Additionally, should I be trying to start my own company or should I try to join one and work there first to get my foot in the door and gain experience and knowledge.
