Best Way to Handle I need to talk to my Wife/Partner Objections

Couple days ago I had a good call with a remodeling contractor and after I went through price he said he liked the system and everything but he needs to talk with his wife, I tried to handle it by isolating him and his wife and asking how he feels about it but he just told me once again he feels great about it and the concept but when it comes down to making decisions his wife owns the company on paper and she is the owner.

How should I have handled this if I didn’t know his wife was the owner before the call?
