What does my mammogram have to do with AI?
I went to get my yearly mammogram today, so first...
If you’re due for yours and haven’t scheduled it yet, this is your sign. 💛
Please go schedule it.🥰
Now for the AI part...
While signing the privacy notices, I saw an...🔴 Artificial Intelligence Notice.🔴
Of course, I had to read it. 😂
I even took a picture. Check it out below.
What stood out to me was this:
AI may be used to help the radiologist with diagnosis, treatment, and patient care...
BUT AI does not replace the radiologist.
The radiologist is still responsible for reading and interpreting the images.
And that’s exactly how I see AI in real life:
AI is the tool.
Humans still hold the judgment and responsibility.
I also noticed the notice mentioned HIPAA, FDA laws, and state law requiring patients to be informed when AI is involved in medical care.
🤓 For my fellow legal/AI nerds, in Texas, that likely points to Texas Health & Safety Code § 183.005(b) and Texas Business & Commerce Code § 552.051(f)...regarding AI disclosures for health care services.
Big picture?
We’re going to see more AI notices like this everywhere...
Doctor’s offices.
Schools.
Banks.
Customer service.
Business tools.
Creative apps.
So, it's helpful to have them in your businesses, too, if applicable.
AI is not coming someday.
It is already here. 👀
Have you noticed any AI disclosures, AI notices, or “AI was used” messages in your daily life lately?
Where did you spot one? 👇
