What is the pattern on the waistcoat?
Pop Culture Indifference
Once I began my first Real job at 14, I had no time for TV . ON active duty from 71 to 75 I was mostly overseas. From my first Honorable discharge until I reentered the military I had no time to waste on TV. From 80 to 96, TV was not part of my life. After that I learned quickly that TV generally sucked. Sitcoms insulted me with laugh tracks. Post op, I would check out some TV programs. Most I didn't finish an episode. I've heard many talk of programs I've never seen. Some include Dallas, Miami Vice, Taxi, A-Team. From what I've gathered, I didn't miss much. All this makes me a pop culture dinosaur. Maybe that's why I'm willing to be extinct. A few that I did watch more than once: Hunter, Cheers. I have no complaints. Thanks

Very cool to know. I only watched channel 11 (PBS) as a kid. Since then I haven’t really watched TV. I can see the effects that it has on the older generations, doesn’t look all that great from the outside. That said, if I could compare it to social media, I’m not sure if I’d consider it much better. There is very little regulation to encourage accurate and truthful information, and many platforms are predatory vice peddlers. Deleting most of these platforms from my phone was one of the best decisions I could have made
Golf outfit ⛳️
Chino shorts and spectator shoes. A hat and glasses for protection from the hot Arizona sun. The watch is a 1961 Longines automatic and the shirt is custom from Proper Cloth (a design I thought of for playing golf specifically and inspired by classic sport shirts of the past)

@Roger Rheault I’d say short sleeves are a no go, outside of outdoor sports. This sports shirt was my way of adapting traditional menswear to warm weather. Taller oxford collar offers more protection from the sun, classic polo fabric is breathable and wicks sweat, chest pocket is practical for carrying tees and other small items when on the green. I overheat when it’s warm so I’ve been thinking about ways to adapt my style to suit

Dress Codes
I was just chatting with some of the other gents in the community and realized how between three men we had three different definitions of the smart casual and business casual dress codes. How do you all define the different dress codes? And where do most men learn this information? I picked my definition up from sources like Gentleman’s Gazette and Wikipedia. My definition of the dress codes by decending formality 1. White tie 2. Black tie (evening formal wear) 3. Semi formal/business (conservative, business colored suits and ties) 4. Business casual (tie is optional but no jeans. Sport jacket combinations) 5. Smart/elevated casual (jeans and collared shirt or sweater. Casual jackets and shoes) 6. Casual (nebulous zone) 7. Lounge/athleisure wear (do not wear these outside of home or sporting activities) However a man who is apathetic about style might categorize the formality scale as… 1. Suit and Tie 2. Polo and chinos 3. Casual (nebulous graphic tee and shorts zone)
