Estrogen Drop - When estrogen declines (perimenopause or menopause), the hypothalamus (your body’s internal thermostat) becomes more sensitive and overreacts to small changes in temperature or stress. 2. Cortisol SpikesStress—even minor—can spike cortisol, which can trigger a hot flush. This is especially common if your adrenals are overworked. 3. Blood Sugar Spikes - Sugary or refined foods, caffeine, and alcohol can spike your blood sugar, followed by a crash—another trigger for hot flushes. ✅ Action Plan: What You Can Do 1. Balance Your Meals To reduce food-triggered hot flushes: - Always pair carbs with protein or fat (e.g., sweet potato + salmon, or apple + almond butter). - Avoid high-sugar and spicy foods, which are known to trigger flushes. - Try herbal teas like peppermint or chamomile instead of coffee or wine, especially in the evening. 1. Support Estrogen Naturally - Add flaxseeds (1–2 tbsp daily) – they contain lignans that help balance estrogen. - Try phytoestrogenic foods like chickpeas, lentils, and tofu (organic only). 3.Soothe Your Nervous System - Practice 4-7-8 breathing before and after meals. - Take 300–400 mg of magnesium glycinate at night (calms nerves, helps flush frequency). - Try adaptogens like ashwagandha or rhodiola to support adrenal function (if not on thyroid meds or blood pressure meds—ask if you want safety guidance!). 1. Daily Root Chakra Ritual for Inner Child Healing Duration: 3–5 minutes Time: Morning or before bed Optional Tools: Red candle, grounding crystal (hematite/garnet), cozy blanket Step 1: Ground Sit or stand with your feet flat on the floor. Take a deep breath into your belly. Feel the connection between your body and the Earth — stable, steady, holding you. Step 2: Inner Child Connection Place one hand on your heart and one hand on your lower belly or base of the spine. Close your eyes and gently invite your 5-year-old Inner Child into awareness. Say softly: “Hi sweetheart. I’m here. I see you. I love you.” “You are safe with me.” “You are more than enough.” Step 3: Affirm the Truth Repeat this affirmation out loud or silently: “I am enough. I’ve always been enough. My roots are strong. I belong. I am safe in who I am.” Feel these words not just in your mind — but in your body, especially in your root. Step 4: Anchor with Breath or Touch Take three slow, deep breaths. With each exhale, imagine the red light at your root glowing brighter. You can gently sway, hug yourself, or rock — whatever feels nurturing. Step 5: Close with Love Thank your Inner Child: “Thank you for showing up. 5 things to know about Cancer season (21 June - 22 July) 👁 INTUITION IS HIGH. We’re in water season, that means heightened intuition. Ruled by the Moon, this is a season that’s all about sensing and feeling your way through life. What do you FEEL right now? And what do you need to do about it? ✨ EMOTIONS WILL MOVE. The Moon rules the tides on this planet, and has a huge draw and pull on water. If you think about tides, they ebb and flow. Be aware of rising emotions this month, and remember, come back to your movement, your grounding, your breath… 💎 HOME RULES. Cancer rules the realms of the home. The energy of your home will come into real focus this month. Your garden, the food you eat, the love (or not) in your home. Use it as a month to really clear out, tidy and re-focus your home energy. What’s been waiting to go to the tip for months on end? What’s been really bugging you about the home? Give it a ‘summer clean’ rather than a spring clean. 🔮 TIME TO RETREAT.
