New video up
Got my home studio up and running and put this together. Basically just kept the tape rolling while going through several video ideas for my Positive Referee project. Some will be cut into website welcome videos, landing /sales page, and thank you and upsell pages. Also added a few of these quick tip videos and thought I'd share this one to get feedback from the group on how it looks and any tips for improvement. Also trying to decide between the logo backdrop or a photo, which comes off better/less distracting/more professional? https://youtu.be/v3AFMfXJYiw

@Gary Bremermann sure! The main site is positivereferee.org, and I'm building out a sales funnel at join.positivereferee.org/start that starts with an ebook and ascends through other accessories like the green cards, etc.
A tad late, but 'Hi' from N. Ireland, UK
👋 Hi, my name is Isabel Da Guerra from Northern Ireland. I'm still busy setting up my coaching business - Coach Isabel D. My focus is on foreign-speaking professionals in the accounting industry who need better business English language for career progression. Marketing my business (face) has been a challenge, I admit. Hence, the reason I'm here now. 😁 I'm sure you agree Jordan's short-video concept is a game-changer for us here. Phew! For fun I like to travel, and so far, three countries this year already. I used to sketch and paint but now do it on my iPad. Do puzzles, some 3D too.

Welcome! Been seeing a lot online about the effectiveness of workshops and mini-events to cut through the noise and get quick wins for coaching clients, so sounds like a great, dynamic business to be in! How are you currently marketing yourself and your services?
Question about "The Intro"
I've been using the same intro in all my videos (5 so far) and am wondering if it's becoming repetitive to people who watch multiple videos and if I could do better, or if it's not that big of a deal. Gave it some thought after watching Jordan's "Magnetic Communication" video and came up with a new Intro when using The Format. Old/Current: "Hi, I'm Gary Bremermann, I'm a Tokyo-based recruiter and founder of Happy Mondays, an online and offline community designed to support career growth for bilingual professionals in Japan." New/Considering: "Hi, I'm Gary, I help bilingual professionals in Japan master the core skills and knowledge you need to accelerate career growth and find more joy in your work." Three questions: 1) Is it good to mix it up a bit while still having consistency to "implant" the value proposition? 2) Is the New/Considering one better than the Old/Current one? The new one doesn't mention my role (recruiter) or the community I'm working on building (Happy Mondays) so feeling like not doing so might be a mistake. 3) I've been using first and last name, but am thinking to change to just first name. Not sure which is better. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

1 - I agree, mixing it up is good, keeps it feeling fresh if someone goes to binge through past videos once you've connected with them. 2 - I'd say mention those things when they relate specifically to the video's topic. Sometimes one or the other or neither may not be immediately relevant, so use whatever fits for that piece of content. They can always discover more if the message resonates and they start following you for more. 3 - Since your full name is likely right next to the video post, or is already clickable to go to your profile, I think the casual and familiar approach of just the first name works for these social videos. Which is actually something I hadn't considered for myself before, so thank you for bringing up that idea!
This week's video
Just put this one up. Tried to make it shorter this time while providing value. I'm still quite nervous in front of the camera but bit by bit getting more comfortable. Used a lower camera level this time. There's some kind of color conversion issue with LinkedIn as it adds a slight orange hue which isn't in the original video. I still want to improve the production quality but for now I'm getting some practice in using the framework. I need to learn more about LinkedIn metrics to truly understand how the videos perform, but have been getting some good connection requests, etc. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/garyb_job-interview-japan-activity-7038768286188150784-V12r?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop

Looks great! I can see how your intro is a little less dynamic, while you get more comfortable when getting into the video's actual subject, so once you get more of these videos done, that introduction part will probably start to flow even better once you feel easier about going 'off script' on that part.
