Make Sharepoint available in Fabric (datalake)
I have ckecked several topics but I couldn’t find the best answer on my question. In our company we have a lot data stored in Sharepoint. Maybe 500/1000+ xlsx, csv, pdf documents. Most of these files are also pretty large 20mb+. Now we want to make them available in Fabric. Sonwe could transfer the files with powerautomate, logicapps, pipeline, notebook. But in this way we are duplicate data so the storage will be 2 times as high right? What is the best way/best practice for this kind of solution? Like for example with Azure Data Lake Storage I could creat a shortcut, I hope to find something simular but in the documentation it looks like not possible. I am wondering how u guys could solve this connection

@Ramon Nooijen I think Will had touched on this with another topic I had inquired about in pipelines with other teams outside of Fabric having to be involved in implementation of these connectors and their functionality. I would imagine that more collaboration between SharePoint and Fabric needs to happen to expand the capabilities.

@Will Needham oh most definitely. I would imagine it would make SharePoint even more viable. I already like SharePoint a lot for trying to get users to work in the cloud more versus locally, but I know it's quite capable to actually use for data operations outside of just file storage and it integrates well with most other MS products. Data has no limits these days it seems. It's everywhere now haha.
Pipeline Dependencies
I was wondering if it is possible to somehow to commit a pipeline to GitHub and have all the artifacts associated with it also committed at least initially? Like if my pipeline has multiple notebooks or something associated with it, could that also be committed in one go? I'm just thinking of trying to back up my pipelines in a way that makes sense to me with how the workspaces are set up at my company. I hate wading through all the other stuff going on in there lol.

@Will Needham oh I am not experienced at all with ADO or GitHub. Just starting out learning GitHub right now on an unrelated project. This definitely helps give some insight for sure though and a starting point! Appreciate it! Would make for a great video too I’m sure 😁

Purview is pretty neat, when I played around with it a while ago it seemed to definitely be lacking though (though I will say I'm definitely not super familiar with it). I saw the potential for sure though when it came to linking Fabric to it!

@Will Needham thanks for the theory! I definitely think you are spot on, and gave way more insight that I would have ever gotten from trying to figure it out myself haha. Totally makes more sense as to why some of these things stay in preview for so long. I have been using the lakehouse schemas for a while and haven't had too much issue in how I've been using them. I don't really use DFG2 much but decided to give it a whirl last week for a simple data cleansing and load from a few excel files instead of doing a whole spark notebook, but the lack of a schema destination was a bit off-putting. I do go back on the pipeline notifications as the major one for me personally. I haven't looked at the new outlook or teams activities for options, but they sure were a pain before, hence the Power Automate solution. It definitely is easier to have all the activities on one canvas though that's for sure!
