The Journey
It’s not about being perfect but how you have grown. Recognising the progress you have made When you pause to celebrate your wins, big or small, you build confidence, momentum, and resilience. Every step forward matters. Every win counts What have you accomplished this week? Did you learn something new? Did you show up?

Great question to end the week with. This week has been life-changing for me. I finally stopped fighting my ADHD and started learning to work with it instead. I’ve learned that healing isn’t about becoming someone else—it’s about understanding who you’ve been all along. Every small step really does count.

@Linda Trup Absolutely. That’s probably been my biggest lesson this week. For years I thought I had to force myself to fit the world. Now I’m learning it’s okay to build a life that works with my brain instead. One small step at a time. 😊
Operating Manual Progress
Section 2 of the Operating Manual just explained my evenings to me. The scrolling and late-night snacking I always called weakness turns out to be a wired nervous system grabbing the fastest lever it can reach, and the checking was feeding the exact loop I was trying to escape. And the calmest I've felt recently, walking alone in the hills, was my system showing me the way out.

@Linda Trup Absolutely. Since my diagnosis, I’ve realised nature isn’t just something I enjoy—it’s something I genuinely need. A few hours out on the hills can do more for my mind than days spent indoors. It’s become a big part of my healing.

@Bobbie Eden thanks
New job
Hey y’all… sorry I haven’t been as involved here the past couple days. I started training for a new job yesterday and it’s got me all turned around. We also have company visiting from out of town too. For someone who NEEDS routine, this is tough. Anyways…. Hope you all are doing ok and I hope to be able to get in here more once I get things figured out.

Congratulations on the new job, Stephanie! 🎉 I can definitely relate to routine being turned upside down. Be kind to yourself while everything settles—it’s a lot for any ADHD brain to process. Wishing you all the best, and the community will still be here when things find their rhythm again.
Personal Operating Manual
Just did the first part of my Operating Manual and realised every planner and app I ever tried was aimed at the wrong layer. They were fixing my actions while the belief that I was "too much" ran the whole show underneath. Also finally saw that my phone by the bed was never a willpower problem - it was design doing its job.

@Judy Hamilton Thanks, Judy. It’s amazing how one realisation can completely change the way you look back at your whole life. Looking forward to seeing what else I uncover over the coming weeks.
Introduction!
Hi everyone! 👋 I’m Susanna, 23, from Finland. I’ve joined because I want to better understand how my ADHD brain works and learn how to work with it instead of constantly fighting against it. I’m passionate about psychology, personal growth, meaningful conversations, and building a life that’s calm and sustainable. I love exploring new ideas, but I also know how easy it is for me to go all in, become overwhelmed, and struggle with consistency. That’s something I’m actively working on. I’m looking forward to learning from all of you, sharing experiences, and being part of a community where people truly understand what it’s like to live with ADHD. Happy to be here! 💚

Welcome, Susanna! 👋 I really relate to wanting to work with your ADHD instead of constantly fighting it. I was only diagnosed at 46 and that’s exactly the mindset I’m trying to adopt too. You’re in a great community here—wishing you all the best on your journey.
