3 contributions to From Job to CEO The Experiment
🧪 Experiment #2 starts today.
May 1 - Day 1 of 30. For the next 30 days I'm posting 3 times every day across Skool communities. I'm going to track every number and because I love a good tracker, I created one that I'm going to test out. I'll report back regularly so you can see exactly what consistent showing up does (or doesn't do) to a business. Because like many/all of you, I am juggling this business stuff around life - working a full time job, with a family, preparing my June bundle and anything else that comes up, this has to be efficient. So I've planned it: The daily formula: → Post 1: This community - value, update or experiment data → Post 2: Another Skool community - genuine value, no pitching → Post 3: Another Skool community - different room, same rule What I'm tracking: Members (+/-) | Discovery rank | Engagement | Conversion | Any comments or DMs of note | Score | Directly connected sales | Where I posted | Starting numbers: Members: 70 | Churn: 1 | Discovery rank: 1,769 | Engagement: 78% | Visitors 245 | Conversion: 6.7% | Sales directly connected to Skool: 0 What's the experiment showing so far: Lets give it a few days... By May 31 I'll know whether consistent Skool presence actually moves the needle on real business metrics - or whether it's just a lot of effort for a better rank number. That's the experiment. Now, what can all of you be doing that will help grow your email list or membership or client base? It would be great to hear and have you track along with me. Post below what you are going focus on growing the next 30 days with me and start by entering the number that you are going to track (subscribers, members, clients, whatever) and when I do an update - you do an update too... Your number below... how you are going to grow it and what it is today? 👇

@Nelléne Vorster I have found that the conversion metric isn't accurate but then again I probably don't have enough data to be certain. I have found that views can lead to clicks. just keeping an eye on all the numbers for now but yeah, I don't bother with followers. It is nice to see the views number climb haha.

@Nelléne Vorster thank you. You too!
I'll go first — here's my intro 👋
Since I'm asking you all to introduce yourselves, feels only fair I go first. I'm Niky. I live in New Zealand (yes, the time zones are genuinely chaotic 😂), I'm 18+ years into a senior leadership career in the public service, and I'm building my own business, right now, while still fully employed and wrangling a young family. Why am I doing this? Because I've always wanted to work for myself. Because I watched my Dad start businesses growing up and it never left me. And because pouring all this energy into a career where extra hours don't translate into extra reward stopped making sense a while ago. So here I am. Building in public. Sharing every experiment, every mistake, and every win, including the ones that are embarrassing to admit. Your turn. 👇 Drop your intro below, you can use this template if you need it: Hi! I'm [NAME], based in [COUNTRY] and I'm currently [JOB/SITUATION e.g. still in 9-to-5 / side hustle started / recently left]. My biggest challenge with building a business alongside work is [CHALLENGE]. I'm excited to [ONE GOAL]. Can’t wait to hear about you all.

@Nelléne Vorster That is awesome. I wanted to check out Spoonflower forever 😆
Time hack that saved me 30-60 minutes every morning 🕐
Recently I decided to take a risk on AI and hand over my completely unmanageable personal inbox to Claude. I was getting about 100 emails a day because I signed up for far too much stuff and then spending my time on the treadmill each morning frantically trying to read them all in case I missed a deadline or a school payment for my kids or a genius business idea 🙄. I had a great system - skim read every email so I was at zero each morning (for about a second) and star all the things I needed to go back to... then I decided to host my first bundle, launch a new product and start a new skool membership and I was done 🤯 I realised I couldn't keep up this ridiculous routine of trying to read over 100 emails every morning half of which were just garbage. I decided to hand it over to Claude cowork and see what it could do, I was at the point where if things got 'lost', I didn't care anymore, I could barely see what I had and the time was just sucking the life out of me. When Claude was finished, I had over 1000 'star' items in a folder 🤣🤣🤣 all that stuff I was tagging because I HAD to read it later... seriously 🙄 I'll probably never use the star again... But I also had all my business newsletters filtering to a specific folder, all my notifications to another one and the best system - A morning email digest in Claude that I can scan in 5 minutes and decide what needs action today without going through 100 emails to get there. I need to refine it but far out its been awesome (and if it has deleted some stuff, well, I don't care 🤣) What's the one thing eating your time every day that you keep tolerating? 👇
