Probably carbonara, it’s so simple and you can do so much with it once you get the hang of it. It’s just egg yolks and cheese and pasta water. You can add lemon or spicy peppers, guanciale or bacon, it’s nearly unlimited.
Just made a carbonara!
Egg yolks, chopped garlic, parmesan, and some protein spaghetti for a lovely nearly-midnight snack. Although, now I’ve gotta use double the mouthwash for this garlic breath 🫩

@David Atherton hello!
Hoosier Baker
Nice to be part of an international community. I am a Hoosier for my final chapter. I prefer baking to cooking, which is good since I can only cook a few things well these days. Luckily my husband was a restaurant guy. I joined because I admire and care about Natalie. And I am not afraid to learn something!!

Welcome ! 🤗
Welcome ! I’m excited that you all have joined me on this new adventure and appreciate you being here . I have big plans for this group and there is so much room to grow… one of my favorite things about food, is you never stop learning. I’m honored that you are trusting to learn from me and to teach your children- I’m just as excited at the prospect of learning from you all. So, thank you, for showing up. Please take a moment and post about your favorite food memory, or two. This can be the smell of cookies baking in your grandmother’s kitchen… a special meal you’ll always remember… or any memory that’s cemented itself into your mind by food. Food helps us remember because the smells, the tastes, the love…how the sound of bacon sizzling on a cold winter morning wakes up your soul. It captures all of your senses and weaves itself with your emotions into a single moment, making it forever memorable. Please share with us, some of yours.

I remember when I was little, you would make this cherry ice cream. It had really good vanilla and very decadent cherries that you’d roast to deepen the sweetness. it was so so lovely
