From what he’s been saying lately, it does come across as opposition to regime change, and for many people the way he talks about protestersespecially young people who showed real courage facing the IRGC feels troubling. That’s why some interpret his stance as being less about concern for Iran and more aligned with narratives that ultimately benefit the current regime.
