Test something new in your speech
I want to ask a question from you, How often do you test a new thing in your speech, I mean telling a funny joke, a private story, role playing and other things. For years, I didn't want to try new things in my speech because I think it could put me in a risk of criticism. What will happen if I cannot do it well! And I was remaining in my comfort zone, but recently I decided to test new things and improve my speech. What is your opinion and experience for this?

I think as soon as I can, I like to practice new things in my speaking. It can definitely get harder if there are no upcoming gigs and you get into that slump and start relaxing and not think of trying something new. This is the best time to get creative and test out new things, like putting a joke in or getting a prop in there. Thanks for the reminder. It's these slumps that are where we get creative and grow.
Do you agree with 50 seconds speaking challange every week?
I suggest that we have a challenge for speaking 50 seconds via app What's your opinion?

Oh, just 50 seconds. That sounds very short to me. But a good way to get some practice in.
Question
What helps you feel more confident when speaking in public? I heard something the other day that before you speak you should try get rid of the adrenaline build up so you arent nervous like doing twenty start jumps 10 press ups etc so you wont pace about so much might give that a try next time i have a interview thing tomorrow so gonna do that in advance i do random star jumps all the time anyway so hope it helps lol

I usually have so much energy built up then that I don't think 10 push-ups or anything will get rid of it. I usually take the opposite approach and I try to calm my nerves down by deep breathing exercises and trying to bring my attention back to my body. I usually get stuck in my head pretty quickly.
Energy during a speech
I’m working on a speech that has a relatively heavy topic but where I will bring some lightness to it too, however I do feel that I struggle with making it energetic and would love your help 🙏 What do you do or what’s your recommendation to come across as energetic during a speech? What is it to bring energy for you? What are you looking for when listening to a public speaker in this regard?

@Linda Berg Very nice. Yeah, burnout is a topic that everybody struggles with in their lives. Just curious, what elements are you going to use to lighten the mood?

@Linda Berg Amazing, I look forward to it.

@Wolfram Grohnert Wonderfully said and that's what a lot of speakers do as well. Help the audience see something differently or take an action in a different way that they normally wouldn't have taken and that is usually on the positive side

I'm originally from India but right now I'm based in Atlantic Canada. My mission is very simple: make people feel safe before they communicate and to help them communicate clearly with a clear message Before I did not know how to communicate clearly to myself and now I'm a public speaker so there is a good transformation journey for myself that I can use as an example
