Tomorrow, everything changes 🚀
You may or may not have seen some of my recent hints... but tomorrow, this community is getting a massive shake-up. Since starting this space in January, we’ve grown to 1,100 members! Watching this community evolve has been incredible, and it inspired me to build something I wish I had when I was a beginner. I felt overwhelmed, made expensive mistakes, and wished there was just one centralized, organized place where I could get a clear path and real-time answers. This change is the catalyst for exactly that. Tomorrow, 𝗮𝘁 𝟰 𝗽𝗺 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹, I'm pulling back the curtain on a brand-new space designed to break down your biggest roadblocks and give you absolute direction. I’m holding the full reveal under lock and key until then... 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿: make sure you have your community notifications turned 𝗢𝗡. 🔔 Full transparency → I will be opening a door that will let you test-drive everything without paying a single cent upfront. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵: the absolute lowest rate this will 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 be offered at is strictly limited to the 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗢𝗡𝗟𝗬. Once those spots are claimed, they're gone. Set your alarms. Get excited. I cannot wait to share the full picture with you tomorrow. 🤫🌱

Working my compost bucket
Since I haven’t convinced the hubby yet that I need an inside composter… it’s getting more expensive as the days go by as I discovered a really cool $649 one today. Hahahaha…. I have been using my five gallon buckets I got from work.drilled holes all over bottom, tops and sides for airflow, water to enter, and drain. Each night as I walk through my garden, I remove any dry leaves, expended flowers, etc and toss them in my bucket. I also shred up paper towels I dry my hands on, collect tea bags and coffee grounds, veggie scraps, and cut up cardboard tubes and boxes to toss into my bucket. When my seeds didn’t germinate for me this spring, I decided to dump all the seeding mix in my bucket too. Each night after adding my scraps, I take my spade and chops it all up and turn it, mixing it all together. It’s looking good and my bucket is filling up quick.

Amending & Prepping Beds for Planting 🌱
I did a lot of planting this past weekend and thought I’d share how I prep my beds before adding new plants! Once a year, I top off all my beds with fresh compost. I usually do this in the fall as summer crops are coming out and cool-season crops are going in, but you can do this whenever it makes the most sense for you. Why compost? Compost does a little bit of everything. It improves soil structure, helps sandy soil retain moisture, improves drainage in heavy clay, adds organic matter, and feeds the microbial life that keeps your soil functioning well over time. Then anytime I’m planting a new round of veggies, I add my secret little blend of nutrients. I usually keep this under lock & key, buuuuut since y’all are awesome, I’ll tell you what it is 😉 Worm castings: These are gentle but powerful. They add beneficial microbes, improve nutrient availability, and improve soil structure, which helps roots establish. Think of it like a biological boost, similar to compost. All-purpose granular organic fertilizer: Granular fertilizers contain a range of nutrients and release them slowly, so they feed over time rather than all at once. This is good for steady, long-term growth. Granulated molasses: This one surprises people! Molasses helps feed soil microbes because it provides a carbon source, which gives energy to fungi and beneficial bacteria, boosting microbial activity. It also acts as a natural pest repellent by increasing plants' Brix level (aka, sugar content), which makes leaves less tasty to our fave pests like aphids and caterpillars. And as a bonus, molasses smells really good 🧁😂 I sprinkle all this on top of the soil, then mix everything into the top couple of inches and plant! What do you think? Let me know if you want me to expand on any of this or have any questions!
