Organic triple disc?
I really want to stay away from a ceramic clutch. Most people are suggesting at my power level of around 600hp that a ceramic dual is what I should get. I hate a grabby clutch. Anyone run a triple organic clutch?

@Seth Williamson is that clutch disk a puck style?
Camshafts!!
What’s everyone’s thoughts on camshafts in daily driver trucks? Are they worth the extra money? I’ve looked at a few but haven’t noticed if they have a lob for mechanical pump? I know people talk about using the Vp camshafts but they don’t have the pump lobe.

Ppump functions, upgrades, calibration and more. Yeehaw
I’ve had a bunch of questions regarding ppump upgrades, calibration, and stuff. The governor and the foot and that side of the pump seems pretty straight forward. Timing, while a bit of a pain, seems straight forward as well. Where I’m a bit uncertain is in the rebuilding/upgrading and the need for calibration. Here are a couple videos that seem to explain stuff, although I’m curious how accurate they are. Meyer (SP?) over on PDD did a good intro to the darned things here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Og2I4mGu0u4 EdzGarage has a video (telling us NOT to mess with it) but some decent info. And while they don’t mention it, the “flag” for the #1 piston TDC is clearly visible. (the metal piece you align with the plastic insert dealio) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBbdGI5mWFc Rob has a good video about upgrading the governor and the AFC assembly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XABcEDmgbA&t=712s There’s a solid video describing the actual calibration in an old Bosch video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-aONWNgE1EI Aaaanyhow, here’s my question(s): if I were to take a 180 ppump, swap out the barrel, change the plunger to a 215 style plunger, and upgrade the delivery valves. Does this require a calibration? Looking at Rob’s video that discusses the spacers/washers on top of the DV, that they have to be saved or it will need re-calibration. (is that the same function as the shims on top of the barrel as shown in the Bosch vid?) I would guess that swapping a 215 cam into the pump would require calibration, regardless of anything else? The dang pumps seem fairly simple, but some of the details ilof it are like black magic or witchcraft.

@Jeff MacDonald shit that assumed build with the right air is more of a 1200hp build not 600!
Meet the new truck of the fleet
Just picked us up for my buddy 2006 5.9 truck 48RE four-wheel-drive. It’s a bit rough around the edges, but it’ll do for what we’re gonna use it for.

PDD hot rod ofv issue may be resolved
I took the original lift pump and took the pushrod out to find it seems a tad longer than the PDD rod. There is a nice rattle inside the old pump. Shown in pictures and video

@Mark Livingston yeah for sure! Frustrating as hell when you spend good hard earned money on something and it’s a pile of shit! But that’s the quality and world we live in these days!
