I wonder if hooks are the biggest trap for beginners. You want to grab attention, but as @Alicia Joseph said, it's about meeting the client's current state. Great question, @Daiyan Khan with an extremly instructive reply from Alcia. I'll put this in my memory bank.

I think emails are the best way to start for myself. Landing pages are a close second.

@Alicia Joseph I'm excited to learn this craft. It'll help in so many ways.
Thought Experiment
Being fresh to copywriting, I'm wondering if it is more beneficial to mimic existing copy to learn the proper flow, or studying the reasons for word usage. In other words, is copywriting more intuitive based on human desires or consiously studying techniques and psychological triggers?

@Alicia Joseph Thank you, Alicia. Your response to my question relaxes me a bit. It helps me know that copywriting can be a more natural process, learning along the way rather than spending 100s of hours learning the details of the craft.
New Copywriting Mindset For 2025 - Working Harder Is Not The Answer
The key to success is working harder, grinding harder, and Thinking hard till your brain’s fried. And I used to believe that too. But after personally having written hundreds of ads, poured hours into crafting “perfect” headlines, tweaking every word like it was life or death, and testing my copy in the real world generating results. You know what I learnt? Working hard was not the answer to success. Infact, the ads that worked the best—The ones that brought in sales for my clients— Were the dead simplest. It connects, It's clean, clear, and straight to the point. And I've noticed the exacts same pattern from talking with 6-7 figure copywriters. Now, do NOT confuse this with laziness - This doesn’t mean you be lazy So how do you become a smart copywriter? We're not just writing for the sake of it. We're ticking boxes: ✅ A clear hook that grabs ✅ A strong reason to care ✅ Connecting with the audience they are writing for ✅Positioning the offer in a way that stands out ✅ And keeping it dead simple They know what every line is meant to do. That’s the shift. Write with purpose, not just pressure.

Thanks for this post, Alicia. Is there a breakdown of each of those points on this site? I'm so new to this, I need help getting started. Let me try a hook-- I'm here in my garage, see my lamborgini? I love driving it around so that everyone knows how successful I am. But I like something more than people being jealous of me. Want to know what that is? Money. ...and power. ...and more lamborginis. Yeah. More of that stuff.
Who want's me to do a video on ai copywriting?
I'm thinking of making some ai tutorials to make copywriting easier :)

I would rather concentrate on the natural, human way first.
