The Raising of Gentleman (Proud Dad Moment)
I just got back from vacation with my family and as I was sitting on the airplane flying home a warm grateful feeling came over me as I was going over the trip in my head. While I have always felt that my wife and I have great boys, I have come to realize that they are Men now and I couldn't be prouder. I have come to realize that my grown boys have not only become Men but also become gentlemen at the same time. This has nothing to do with how they dress (they both dress well) but more about how they act. When I walk down the street with my wife she is always on the inside while I stay on the street side. When we go up a flight of stairs I'm always behind her to catch her if she slips. When we go down stairs I'm always in front for the same reason. This is not something I have discussed with my children just something that has always been natural and I just do it. Well, while we were walking around an old city with no cars my older son and I got into a conversation and got a few paces ahead of his mother and brother. My older son said "where are they"? we looked behind us and there were the 2 of them arm in arm laughing and joking while my younger son helped his mother walk the cobblestone street. 👏. I noticed several of these types of things happen with each child with respect to their mother. Always making sure she was accounted for, helping her with her suitcase, making sure she was enjoying her time with the family and showing up on time well dressed and taking the obligatory family photo without an argument because Mom wished it so! I just wanted to confirm the fact that "more is caught than taught" and I believe my boys will treat some lucky partner of theirs with the same respect they treat their mother and themselves. In this crazy world, I'm here feeling very hopeful that there is a generation of younger people who know what right looks like!!

Something to be proud of for sure with your kids. On that same note. My son shakes the hand of every person with a Veterans hat on. Since he has been about 9 or 10 years old, He walks up to them and says “thank you for your service” very simple, but seeing the reactions of the older generation has been very gratifying to see. It means the world to them and will sometimes lead to old stories that they may have.

Blue Blazer Baby
I've been looking for a blue blazer for some time now. This weekend, my wife and I stopped by my favorite thrift store...and there she stood, a Tom James size 52L MTM blue blazer. Like a siren, she called out to me. "I am yours, take me." The price tag was $95, but I negotiated it down to $65. Shoulders: fit, sleeves: fit, length: fit, waist: fit. Holding it in my arms, I looked into my wife's eyes and said, "You know we were meant for each other, right?" She said, "Are you talking about me or your blazer? I just smiled.
