New Year! New Community! New Book!
This is shaping up to be a pivotal year for Perma Resilience. Over the past year, I have been working deeply on a new book that addresses what I see as the real bottleneck in permaculture and homesteading. It is not soil, skills, or motivation. It is access to land, and just as importantly, how you keep that land without constant financial pressure, damaged relationships, or long term stress. Most people do not fail because they cannot grow food. They fail because the way they acquired their land makes everything fragile from the start. The book breaks down practical, real world ways people are buying land and holding it sustainably, both financially and relationally, without relying on conventional bank paths that often undermine resilience. I will be releasing the book shortly, and I plan to share it here first with this community. After that, there will be a follow up course that goes deeper into implementation, tools, and real examples. More soon.

Goodness, this book is long overdue! It's heartbreaking to watch Homestead Rescue and also read stories about failed homesteads from buying land that they could not harness properly within their means. It happened to me once- bought three acres of hills and rocks!

@Stefano Creatini A thousand percent- there are YouTubers out there who have fancy apps for breaking down the comps and topography of the land in question, but that's only useful if you have cash to negotiate a deal to put a SFH on it. There's nothing out there for what to look for from a long-term growth perspective or how to negotiate without cash.
🌱 From One Vision to a Thousand Strong 🌎
When I first took over Perma Resilience from Bret, I didn’t know exactly where it would go — I just knew the why behind it was too important to fade away. A space built to reconnect people to land, to resilience, and to each other… deserved to keep growing. And now, we’ve reached 1,000 members! A thousand people learning, planting, and building side by side — proof that resilience isn’t just an idea, it’s a living movement. When I think back to those first few months, I remember wondering if anyone would show up to the calls, or share their projects. But you did — in gardens, in backyards, on farms, and in your daily lives. Somewhere along the way, Perma Resilience became alive. To celebrate this milestone, we’re unlocking something special:🎉 The Holistic Homestead Academy — normally a $1,500 course — is now available FREE inside the Classroom tab. It’s our way of giving back to the community that made this possible — to help every one of you take the next step toward food security, energy independence, and true resilience. 💬 Join the celebration below: 1️⃣ What’s most changed for you since joining Perma Resilience? 2️⃣ What are you building, planting, or creating right now that excites you most? Let’s fill this thread with stories that remind us why we’re here — because this isn’t just about surviving what’s coming… it’s about creating something that lasts. To Bret’s original vision, to this growing movement, and to the 1,000 of us walking the path of resilience together.– Stefano 🌿

I am so very grateful for this access and community. It feels like an uphill climb to get to a place to deploy as much of this wisdom in my own life as I would like to, but you all have been here this whole time, growing and learning. It's awesome I get the opportunity to re-join and catch up where I left off :)
