Ramping Up
Some weeks are lighter. This isn’t one of them for me~ I’ve got a full week ahead~ so I’m not waiting until Monday to get into it. Sunday is where I started on a few things, and I've already been doing a few things early already. Not rushed, but getting things in place and prepped and ready where I can. Looking at what’s coming~ Getting organized~ Lining things up so I’m not scrambling later. Because when the week is full, the setup matters. I don’t need to do everything today~ but I do need to make sure I can move clean when the time comes. That’s the ramp up~ Like the garden~ before a big push, you prep. Clear space. Set your tools. Know where you’re starting. So today is just that~ Getting ready. Getting clear. Stepping in a little early so the week doesn’t run me over. Where is everyone else at this week?

That's such a good way to start the week - feeling that your prep is done and you're ready. I also made my plan yesterday (Sunday) and got out for an early walk this morning, set up for the day.
Introduce Yourself!
One of the best parts of this space is getting to know the people walking alongside us. Whether you just joined or have been here for a while, this is a good moment to say hello. If you’re comfortable sharing, tell us a little about you: • Your name (or what you like to be called) • What you do — artist, entrepreneur, gardener, maker, dreamer… all of it counts • Your business, project, or website (if you have one) • Where you are in life or in your journey right now • What you’re currently working toward or exploring You can keep it short or share more of your story — whatever feels right. This community is made up of people in very different seasons of life and work, and that variety is part of what makes conversations here meaningful. So go ahead — introduce yourself. We’d love to know who’s here. 🌿

Hi everyone, thanks for letting me join you! I'm a textile artist and craft pattern designer. Working from home and being my own boss is ideal for me and I feel very fortunate, however I've always tended to put myself under pressure with over-ambitious plans and to-do lists, and then been prone to anxiety and burnout. I'm realising more and more how important it is to be realistic about my capacity and put my mental and physical health first. I think coming across @Hansheng Lee and this community is one of those times when the universe provides what you need at just the right time! 😄

Planning in Layers
Spent today in the garden and with client work… and it struck me again how similar the two really are. Nothing happens all at once. Not in the soil~ Not in our work~ And most certainly~ not in our lives~! We plan in layers~ We build in layers~ We grow in layers~ Some things are being planted. Some are quietly taking root. Some are finally ready to be seen. Perennial Planning isn’t about forcing everything to bloom at the same time~ it’s about understanding when each layer belongs. Because when things are layered well, we can do more… without carrying everything all at once. A great mentor and friend of mine always refers back to Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott consistently~ and this is another good time to bring it up. So wherever you are today~ planting, tending, or harvesting~ You’re in your season. Where are you working right now~ what layer are you in? 🌿

I'm planting ...finishing a new sewing pattern, and tending...working in the craft guild's gallery today.
Shifting Capacity 🌿
Your capacity isn’t fixed. It moves~ day to day, season to season. Rising and falling like the tides~ Some days you can hold a lot. Other days, even small things feel heavy like rolling waves. That’s normal. We are people~ and even in nature it means that there is a change, and it’s not a bad thing. You noticing It means you’re paying attention to yourself. Perennial Planning isn’t about forcing consistency~ it’s about adjusting with honesty and opening to your day to day self. What does your capacity look like this weekend? And what would it feel like to plan with that, instead of against it?

@AnneMarie Kovach I hope your weekend is peaceful and restful. 🌸.

Recovering from a minor ailment, my energy is coming back more slowly than I hoped, so very little capacity for “all the things” in the garden and business, but plenty of opportunity to practice patience.🫤😅
Midweek check-in 🌿
We’re right in the middle of the week now~ far enough in to feel it, not quite at the finish yet. Where is everyone at today? Are you in a push season~ moving things forward, getting momentum going? Or are you in something quieter~ maintaining, catching up, or even just trying to keep things steady? Perennial Planning isn’t about being “on” all the time. It’s about knowing what season you’re actually in… and working with it instead of against it. Drop where you’re at below~ Growth, Maintenance, or Rest 🌱

What gorgeous clematis, and is that a peony? I’m in rest, but roots are growing beneath the soil as I use some of the time to read and ponder on all the wisdom in the classroom resources - thanks @Hansheng Lee !
