Planning in Layers
Spent today in the garden and with client work… and it struck me again how similar the two really are.
Nothing happens all at once.
Not in the soil~
Not in our work~
And most certainly~ not in our lives~!
We plan in layers~
We build in layers~
We grow in layers~
Some things are being planted.
Some are quietly taking root.
Some are finally ready to be seen.
Perennial Planning isn’t about forcing everything to bloom at the same time~ it’s about understanding when each layer belongs. Because when things are layered well, we can do more… without carrying everything all at once.
A great mentor and friend of mine always refers back to Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott consistently~ and this is another good time to bring it up.
So wherever you are today~ planting, tending, or harvesting~
You’re in your season.
