Fungus gnats
I just discovered fungus gnats on one of my indoor plants. First infestation as a new plant momma. I just ordered some organic insecticide and some sticky traps. Is there anything else I should do? What are your favorite ways to combat infestations??

@Donna Scarborough it got worse. Several plants became infested. I just finished repotting all of them. It was a chore lol.

💧 Do You Really Need a Moisture Meter?
When it comes to container gardening, one of the biggest struggles is knowing when to water. Too much and your plants drown, too little and they wilt. Enter the moisture meter — a simple tool that promises to take the guesswork out of watering. But do you really need one? 🌱 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚 𝐌𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐃𝐨𝐞𝐬 A moisture meter is a small probe you stick into the soil. It gives you a quick reading — usually on a scale from dry to moist to wet — so you can tell if your plant needs water. 👍 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐭: Especially helpful for beginners learning how soil feels at different moisture levels. 𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬: Reduces the chance of overwatering, the #1 killer of container plants. 𝐔𝐬𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐬: Houseplants often have trickier watering needs than outdoor pots. 𝐃𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭: Reads moisture levels below the surface where your fingers can’t reach. 👎 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐩 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐦 * Not Always Precise: Meters can vary in accuracy depending on brand or soil type. * Extra Gadget: Some gardeners prefer the old-fashioned “finger test.” * Maintenance: Probes can corrode or give inconsistent readings over time. 🌿 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐥𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 Moisture meters are helpful—especially for beginners, busy gardeners, or anyone tending a large collection of pots. But they’re not a must-have. If you’ve developed a good watering rhythm, you might not need one. 👉 𝐏𝐫𝐨 𝐓𝐢𝐩: Combine methods. Use a meter for confirmation, but also learn to check soil with your finger and watch your plants for signs of thirst or stress. 🌼 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 A moisture meter can be a great training tool, giving you confidence and helping you save water and plants. Whether you stick with gadgets or go by instinct, the goal is the same: happy, healthy container gardens. 👉 Do you use a moisture meter? Or do you rely on touch and observation? Share your watering wisdom with the group!

I have one but never use it. I use the finger test and try and get down at least an inch into the soil.
My ferns
Anyone deal with ferns? I think it’s about time to bring them in. Just curious on what everyone else does to keep them going. Thinking of naming them….. Larry, Moe & Curley 😅😂 IYKYK

@Jennifer Lowdermilk it was one of the clippings my friend gave me. I love it. It’s just let out its second leaf since I’ve had it.
Star planter
My star plant would be my deadly nightshade!! It was a small clipping in spring and has grown like crazy, and even flowered and produced berries after the first summer!! It’s a beautiful start to my poisonous garden I’m slowly starting!!!

@Donna Scarborough I keep it where the pets can’t get to it. Once I get a few more poisonous plants, I’ll gate off an entire section of my yard for it.
Lilies
For the giveaway, I’m submitting pictures of my lilies! They are absolutely beautiful!! And you can smell their sweet fragrance from feet away!!!
