A bit of wisdom from my brother
My brother posted this on Facebook and I found it so moving I wanted to share here “it’s never been the written word that’s brought me to believe. Quite the contrary. Rather, it’s the incomprehensible forces of the universe, quantum physics, and not least of all, the mysteries of music. No logic satisfies its definition. Tension and release can’t explain how it brings things out and up in us. It speaks and connects in ways that we all feel, but don’t truly understand. It is divine, if anything ever was.” It is why I do the daily soundtrack and why I do the Rooted Spotlight. We need to be looking for the magic, it is the way forward for us all!
Rooting Resilience Retreat May 31-June 2, 2026
Thank you @Alistair Hawkes for the discussion yesterday and more to come. And thank you for allowing me to share! In just a little over 3 weeks I’m hosting the Rooting Resilience Retreat https://hopereimagined.org/events in the redwoods of Northern California — and I would truly love to gather with fellow clinicians. This retreat is designed specifically with educators and mental health professionals in mind. CEUs are available for licensed clinicians (California and eligible nationwide) — so you can nourish your nervous system and meet professional requirements at the same time. More than a training, this is a respite.A space to step out of the daily demands of clinical work and into: -Experiential Neuro-Somatic Integration practices -Time in nature for regulation and restoration -Community with other therapists who understand the work -Practical tools you can bring back to your clients We’ll ground in theory, explore embodied practice, and create space for reflection and renewal. In a time when our systems — and our nervous systems — are under strain, tending to ourselves is not indulgent, it’s essential. If you’re interested, I’m happy to share details, the agenda, CEU information, or answer any questions. Would love to root into resilience together. 🌿

Trauma Therapist?
How I help people with trauma. Self awareness is the first step, IMO. When i meet with someone for intake we do all the things, gather history of trauma, things the client thinks might be contributing to the problems, etc. I enjoy this process - it's like spreading all the puzzle pieces out in front of you. The client's goals are the puzzle. I then provide psycho ed on the basic neuroscience of stress, wizard/lizard brain (I use this language with kids), subconscious mind driving behavior, prefrontal cortex decision-making and problem solving, etc. then I teach them how to use 10 deep breaths to consciously connect limbic brain with prefrontal cortex. Then we assign homework of breathing 3x day between sessions until it becomes an automatic coping strategy. There's so much more that goes into it, of course. I work this way because then the "trauma" is not the focus but the self-regulation is. How do you work with trauma? Make a post about it in the community if you like, we want to learn your method, too. 🎶🌸

@Ronald Huxley thank you it can be so helpful to have a process to ground in
🎁 The Gift of Human Potential
My teacher Harvey Grady, M.S., a clairvoyant since birth who initially channelled Archangel Michael and then later a collective of entities called, Monitor was a researcher at The Association for Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E.) in the 1970s and 1980s. He was also a probation officer and counselor of teens and "difficult case studies" in mental institutions and other community spaces, and also started anti-starvation initiatives in Sedona where he lived...that's a lot in and of itself, but he also gifted us the system called Personal Self-Integration whereby we meet our basic essential selves through meditation, intention and visualization. This is an IFS-similar strategy and has been used by many teachers since it emerged in 1990. You can find materials in the classroom here
