BIG Fabric Updates (Fabric Product Updates for November 2025)
Hey everyone! This week, it's the IGNITE Conference in San Francisco! As such, Microsoft published their monthly list of Fabric Product Updates a little early this month! 👉🔗Here's the blog post: https://blog.fabric.microsoft.com/en-gb/blog/fabric-november-2025-feature-summary?ft=All 👉📽️ More visual? Here's the YouTube video by Adam: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ym2ADQv1P7Y Some very big announcements hidden in there!! Take a look through and let me know your favorites! Here are some that caught my eye: - Azure DevOps Service Principal & Cross Tenant Support (Generally Available) - SQL database in Fabric (Generally Available) - Optimal Refresh for Materialized Lake Views (Preview) - Connect Data Agents to your Azure Search Index in Microsoft Foundry - Data Warehouse: IDENTITY columns (Preview) - Data Warehouse: Data Clustering (Preview) - Natural Language to Generate and Explain Pipeline Expressions with Copilot (Preview) - Lots more Mirroring source become GA - Connection Parameterization with Variable library for CI/CD (Generally Available) - Copy Job
Good to see these two Fabric VS Code extension & Monitoring Hub changes to view the Upstream and Downstream items. - Hierarchical view for pipelines in Monitoring Hub - Fabric VS Code extension is now open source
❓ How are you using Variable Libraries? (If at all!)
Hey community! Are you using the Variable Library in Fabric?! I'm doing some research for a future YouTube video, and it would be great to open up a bit of a discussion around how you're using them so far, considering they are now Generally Available! What use cases are you using them for? Any tips to share about how you set them up? Or perhaps you're using the REST API endpoints for variable libraries for more advanced use cases? Any experience, big or small, would be useful to know about - so please share below! 👇👇👇

Using it for On Prem sql connections,Lakehouse connections and email lists / groups in the data mesh per domain. Life is made is easier post deployment especially when on premise sources are involved. Also, one use is when we wanted to run the UAT with Prod data as source, with variable library lives are made very easy. One new set to be made active and run pipelines ad-hoc. Interesting to see On Prem SQL Connections is common use case. Looking forward for more use cases. Thanks @Will Needham for bringing this post. We should do these kind of post more on different features which involves automation and CI / CD.

Cleared DP700
Dear Will and all Fabric enthusiasts, I was able to clear DP 700 today by a whisker 😅. I got very close to clearing DP600 in last week of Dec but fell short of just 25 points. But I guess that experience got me to achieve DP700 today ✌️. I went through the Microsoft Learn curated content and solved labs for the ingesting data section only (first of the 5 learning paths) since last week using dataflow, data pipeline and Real time data ingestion. I was running out of time and then listened to the first few and the last few sections from Will's 6-hour course just 24 hours before the exam. Skipped the Real time sections since I had done the RTI event stream and event house labs. The monitoring and optimization sections from Will's 6-hour video were really helpful. The strategy to reserve 30 minutes for case study really helped me utilize my time well during the exam (I was short of time during dp600!). I didn't have any time left in the end and I also had to rush with the case study. I had made up my mind to not refer the MS Learn content during exam. No point wasting time. Had it not been for the Will's playlist, I couldn't have finished the necessary knowledge acquisition just in time, and confident enough to appear for the exam and probably clear it as well today (without doing the DP700 practice test available even once 😂). So, thanks much Will for the perfect playlist! You are blessed with a tone of voice that doesn't get boring. Of course, I have also led data teams earlier to deliver some projects with ADF and Databricks with Data vault and SCD type 2 and the data foundations from this experience helped as well. I would suggest others to go through Will's playlist; Read through Microsoft Learn content (5 learning paths) and work on the practical labs with the fabric free trial, do the free practice tests from Microsoft and you should be good enough to clear the Exam. Reviewing latest YouTube clips with some question banks will help as well. There are some questions where you will be able to recollect the right answer easily if you have experience of performing those activities in Fabric. So, use the Fabric free trial well.

Congratulations @S Amin
I've passed DP700 exam
Thanks to Will and the community ! The exam contains a lot of questions about (event)streaming and KQL queries, DAG, Spark some ADF questions. It tests more hands on knowledge than theory unlike DP600. Excited to be certified on both exams now! FULL 6HR DP-700 COURSE Is a must before taking DP700 exam 👉🔗 Watch it here: https://youtu.be/KiB4eAeFRsw
