Agree wholeheartidly with Nate. I have 4 basketball kids. My oldest two played some college basketball D2, NAIA and I learned a ton when they were coming up playing summer ball. I realized that they were not good enough to play on the teams that were actually getting exposure. All the years they played in tons of tournaments and I don't think I ever saw a coach sitting courtside at one of our games becuase they were playing on lower level teams. I've told my younger boys if they want to play summer ball, then they have to realize it will not help them with college. That they should play to just compete and I advise to play on a team that plays minimal local games so they can focus most of their efforts on individual development.
