Big shows
I just had two big shows at this art gallery here in town. Great lighting and venue, some empty seats but that’s to be expected. I had a taco truck the first night and an ice cream truck the second. I made just over $500 in tips ($250 per night). It was a great show!

Amazing, man - good on you for being so industrious! Sounds like a sick night 😀
My first mix is done! Critique away!
Again, not posting this stuff anywhere else until it’s all done, but I’m real happy with how this one’s come out, given it’s my first real stab at this home recording lark. I’m gonna spend a few days listening on as many different speakers and devices as possible, make tweaks accordingly, and call this one done 😁 Posting it here because I appreciate y’all’s input, and you may well hear a bunch of stuff that I don’t. Would love to know what you think!

For anyone who's interested in this sort of thing, here's my Logic Pro timeline for this 😊

@Brad Simon Thanks so much, man! Yeah, so the next one on the EP will be “Get it all Gone”, which was the 3rd song I posted in the Live Recordings thread (scroll along the videos) - going for a much closer, more intimate style with that one ☺️
Live EP Incoming!
So I've been pretty quiet for a couple of months looking after my folks (both had a fall, a day apart from each other 🤦🏻), but I'm back with a god damn vengeance 😤 Me and my buddy went up into the hills at an old coal works near me yesterday and shot three one-shot performances of what will be my first live EP. In the background of this, I'm also working on "studio" versions at home with more layers to them, and cutting a bunch of promotional shorts for each song. Once they're done, I'll be putting the live videos up on YouTube to try and push the whole thing. I think I over-plan sometimes, but as a project I'm really enjoying myself with this; I wrote all three of these back in February/March, so above all it's nice for them to be somewhere other than in my own head at last. Sharing them here as a preview as this community's been a wonderful hang for me this year - please keep them here; I'm not ready to go fully public with them yet. Any and all feedback appreciated, and I'll for sure keep you guys updated with my plans as they develop if you're interested :)

@Brad Simon Thanks man! I'll give the head-voice switch a go; might be a little bit of a stretch, but worth a shot! I've just put my first studio mix of "Sons of the North" up in another thread. Working on the other two next!
Advice
Hey guys hope everyone is doing well im looking for some advice i recently got accepted to have a virtual audition for Australian idol which went well but if i get accepted I’ve always struggled with big crowds would anyone know of something that helps with nerves when performing

In my experience, unfortunately, the answer has just been reps. When I started doing open mics in January, I was a nervous wreck, tense as hell and shaking like a leaf, couldn’t bring myself to talk on the mic, couldn’t get my hands to do even the simplest chord changes that I wouldn’t have thought twice about at home. I sampled a bunch of open mic nights, picked four regulars that were on different weeks of the month, and just started doing them every week. Now I’m relaxed, I don’t beat myself up about mistakes, I’m working out bits to segue between songs… generally I’m just a better performer all round. It’s purely through reps, you’ve gotta gut it out for the first few and just treat them as a practice of just the action of getting up - that’s your only goal to begin with; make it to the stage. Doesn’t matter what happens after. Also, don’t expect the nerves to go away, because I don’t think they do; you just find a way to reframe and use that energy effectively, and you only get there by doing the thing.
Baggs Out of the Bag
Finally found time to bust out the new LR Baggs AEG1 acoustic guitar from the box. Adding this to the collection. But thanks to the wifey for this gift. It’s a badass acoustic guitar I swear. Specially when plugged. I have only two acoustic amps and it sounds great in both. Also hooked it into my little Bose S1 pro and it sounds fantastic! Be hitting the road again tomorrow early o clock so kinda bummed out although I will be looking forward to getting back home later. This is edited from the original video I earlier sent to @Brad Simon for maybe helpful information about the instrument

Nice, man! Beautiful sound for an electro-acoustic; I've got an LR Baggs pickup in my Alvarez and compared to the Fishman in my Fender Paramount it sounds phenomenal - none of that nasally piezo sound that drives me nuts. So glad you're back in the game :D
