He is Risen
Here is the song I posted about earlier. Recording is rough and my voice is not great but gives the idea. Like I said earlier. The verses don't all flow like I want but this is the start at least. Vs1: Came down to earth, God made flesh Born to fulfill, the Father’s plan Born in a stable, a humble birth Our King in a manger, where Heaven was laid Vs2: The Angels proclaimed Him, To shepherds in fields Glory Alleluia, Gods promise revealed What once was a mystery, now brought to light Messiah has come, to redeem our price Chorus 1: Come and See, Our Savior is here Come praise the King of Kings A humble birth, proclaimed to all who would hear Come praise the King of Kings Come praise the King of Kings Vs 3: Praying in the garden, He cried tears of blood Asking the Father, to take this cup Betrayed and denied, by those who were close Beaten and suffered, and died on a cross Vs 4: The wrath of God, poured out on His son Our just punishment, completely undone Buried and mourned, In a borrowed tomb The End was the beginning, for all who God knew Chorus 2: He has risen yes! He is risen indeed Come praise the King of Kings Oh we cry out o Death, Where is your sting? Come praise the King of Kings Come praise the King of Kings Bridge 1: We praise the Father, We praise the Son We praise the Spirit, three in one Bridge 2: We cry Holy Holy, Holy is the lamb Slain for the world to free us from sin

He is risen indeed Come praise the King of Kings Oh we cry out o Death, Where is your sting? Come praise the King of Kings Come praise the King of Kings Bridge 1: We praise the Father, We praise the Son We praise the Spirit, the three in one Bridge 2: We cry Holy, Holy is the lamb Slain for the world to free us from sin

Writing Style
Started working on a new song Saturday after practicing for worship Sunday morning. Will try to get a good recording and post tonight. Struggling with flow of a couple of lines in the verses right now. What's everyone's writing style? Do you have lyrics first then music or a tune in your head first then write lyrics to the tune? I tend as primarily a musician who is new to trying to write to have a tune or melody pop in my head then start trying to put lyrics to it. Would love suggestions for workflow when writing.

@Sarah Steele Love that! I've started keeping a voice recorder with me in my laptop bag so I can record if something pops in my head to reference later because my memory is horrible

@Reid Parrott Thats a great way to look at it. I am more used to writing a sermon or articles for a blog so trying to write songs is newer for me
Father, Give Me Eyes To See
Hey guys! Would love any feedback you have on how to improve this hymn, especially related to the tune. I just recorded the first two stanzas here, but it’s the same melody all the way. — Father, give me eyes to see Beauty in Your sovereignty. Give me faith to trust Your ways, For You’ve numbered all my days. Though I may not understand All the workings of Your plan, Help me trust You as I should; Help me see that You are good. Father, when my joy is full Keep my faith from growing dull Keep me far from pride and greed, Still to trust You for each need. Fix my eyes upon this truth: All I have has come from You. Let me boast in nothing more Than the goodness of my Lord. Father, when my spirit groans And I feel I am alone Help me see Your tender care In each burden that I bear. Use my trials and my pain All for growth and godly gain Lord, I know that You are good; Help me trust You as I should. Father, give me eyes to see Christ enthroned in majesty Bathe me in Your radiant light Turn my faith to glorious sight Lord, I long to see Your face And to join the angels’ praise, But until that blessed day, I will trust Your perfect ways.

Hey folks! I'm Stephen from Tullahoma, TN. For fun I like going for a motorcycle ride or smoking some meat. Haven't really written in a while but want to get back into it this year. Don't have a pic but I have my Yamaha Studio Piano in my office at my house that I can use to sit at and a couple of Midi keyboards and guitars right by my desk.
