Freedom For All - What About You?
Want freedom? People often talk about financial and time freedom. Healthy functional freedom, too. Freedom from disease. What about freedom from the mind? When we understand that the outside event and the inside experience are not necessarily tied together, but many of us have been choosing to make them so, we come to realize that the only thing that gets in the way of feeling free is our own mind. It is our thoughts that we interject... The incessant thoughts that race like cars on a freeway... It is our perception of how we choose how we see things… It is our unwanted emotions we entertain (even though they aren't positively entertaining)... These activities of the mind ARE what prevents us from experiencing freedom. Peace of mind is peace from the mind for most people. Let’s take this one step further. Freedom from the mind sounds nice, but we need the mind's activities to function on a daily basis. Let's face it, we need the mind to make it through the day. We need to practice freedom from the mind and “through” the mind. How can we feel free “through” the mind? It’s pretty simple. By thinking thoughts that allow us to feel expansive. By choosing a perception that is rooted in the idea of empowerment. By training the body and inner self to align with powerful emotions that align with the infinite intelligence, God. It’s a mind game. It's a spiritual mind game. Freedom from the mind and transcending the ego-personality is the first layer of awakening. The second layer is to demonstrate freedom through the mind. When we practice creating freedom through the mind, we begin to love life because it truly becomes a playful canvas on which to create whatever we want. And you are the artist. But to create, you must break from the habitual pattern of reacting with self-protective programs. Freedom starts with the words you choose. Words are powerful, and you are filling your mind with them every waking moment. What is your ONE WORD that will create this freedom today?
