🧊🧊🧊🧊 DID YOU KNOW? 🧊🧊🧊🧊
We focus so much on CICO ( calories in vs. calories out), but we often ignore the "Type" of fat that actually helps you lose weight. We think of fat as just "storage" (White Fat), but did you know you have a "Liquid Gold" fat called Brown Adipose Tissue (BAT)? Unlike white fat, which stores energy and creates inflammation, Brown Fat is packed with mitochondria. Its only job? To burn energy to create heat. 🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿 THE SECRET WEAPON: ICE & SPICE 🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿 Recent research shows we can actually "turn on" this brown fat to incinerate white fat and fix insulin sensitivity. WHY IT MATTERS FOR WEIGHT LOSS: - The Metabolic Furnace: activating Brown Fat can increase your basal metabolic rate by up to 15%. It’s like turning up the idle on your car engine so it burns fuel even while parked. - Glucose Sponge: brown fat is incredibly "hungry" for blood sugar. When activated, it pulls glucose out of your bloodstream, significantly improving insulin sensitivity. - Anti-Inflammatory: while visceral (belly) fat sends out inflammatory signals (cytokines), Brown Fat activity is linked to lower systemic inflammation. HOW TO ACTIVATE IT (WITHOUT DRUGS): 1. The "Cold Exposure" Trick: you don't need a 10-minute ice bath. Even a 30-second cold blast at the end of your morning shower or a walk in brisk air can "wake up" your BAT. 2. The Power of Capsaicin: found in chili peppers, this compound mimics the effects of cold by stimulating the same receptors that tell your body to produce heat. 3. Resveratrol & Quercetin: these phytonutrients (found in berries and red onions) help "brown" your white fat (a process called Beiging). 💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎 Brown Fat isn't about "working out" harder;, it is rather a thermal signalign. It’s a biological switch that tells your body: "Stop storing, start burning." 💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎 Where and how to start: try ending your shower tomorrow with 30 seconds of cold water. It’s a shock at first, but the metabolic "afterburn" and the dopamine hit are addictive!

I don't really enjoy being cold but when I was living in Corpus Christi the fitness club had a cold dip and I tried it and discovered that I really like the experience. I felt great afterwards, granted it wasn't supercold it was about 52-55F (11-113C). And the benefits of activating the brown fat are great, but the benefits to the nervous system and the mental challenge are also something to consider. The best advice I can give to anyone trying a cold dip is to make sure you time the entry in the water with your exhale and to do the entry in one single motion not going in and stopping little by little. And dipping all the way to the neck for me it's much better than half in half out. But the most important one is to ensure we are controlling the breathing while immersed so we train our nervous system. The whole point is to train our system to stay regulated under stress and we do that with the breathing.

@Diane Corriette that sounds like you saw Wim Hof, known as the Iceman. He is incredible and developed his own breathing method. It's amazing what he teaches, if you are curious.

Milk protein isolate as a protein supplement? no flavours, no additives just the milk isolate of grass fed cows
🥬🍃🪴The wild green I am harvesting right now
Don't let the name fool you. Stinging Nettle (Urtica dioica) is one of the most nutrient-dense ingredients nature offers, and April through May is its absolute peak season. If you've ever walked past a patch and cursed the sting, it might be time to reconsider your relationship with this wild plant entirely. Ounce for ounce, nettle contains more protein than almost any other leafy green. It's a genuine powerhouse of iron, calcium, and vitamin K and it is quietly growing for free along roadsides and forest edges. The flavour is deeply green, earthy, and mineral - think spinach, but wilder and more concentrated. It has that quality of tasting like it's actually doing something for you. ❇️❇️❇️❇️The only rule worth knowing: wear gloves when you harvest and wash it. ❇️❇️❇️❇️ Those tiny stinging hairs are completely neutralized by heat or drying, so a quick 60-second blanch in boiling water renders them 100% safe and delicious. That's it. No complex preparation, no special equipment. Once blanched, nettle becomes one of the most versatile ingredients in the anti-inflammatory kitchen. It works as a straight swap for spinach in soups, pestos, and pasta dough and you´ll have a vibrant deep-green colour and a serious nutritional upgrade. Have you tried the nettles yet? How to you cook them?

Fantastic job to everyone and to you @Elena Maren for this space you created! What made me smile today were the horses that are grazing at our land right now, they are super playful and they where trying to eat our wood sticks as we were marking down some areas on the land...😂

I help people finally move the goal they've been putting off for way too long, so they don't get to the end wondering why they never tried.
