An Education Question...
Here's a question worth pondering. With the goal of getting really good at marketing/social media stuff, would it be beneficial to go to a traditional marketing school? Like college? It seems like it would take the same amount of time as leaning to think like a real marketer. I think I know the answer but I'd love to hear some of your thoughts. I've had some successes in the music business but rarely as an artist and never as a marketer for certain! I'm dippin my toes in the water, but I tend to turn a dip into a full polar bear swim pretty quickly. Anyway... If you all have time and an opinion, I'm all ears! Thanks, y'all...

Well going to school might take you longer than teaching yourself with resources you can find on the internet/YouTube & in most cases I've found that being self-taught you have more knowledge than those who went to an actual school. For example: i do web design which i taught myself for a few months and one of my friends who went to school and did a course that had web design doesn't know anything close to what i know. So my advise start learning on ypur own and collect as many resources you can find on the internet.
For managers
My take as a artist/producer for managers...As managers....it seems like the ones who succeed are the ones who understand business and how to get & scale attention. I've ran into some people and they are expecting the artist to do everything without understanding they are basically a business development person..(which includes knowing how to seek out opportunities for the artist, how to add value to the artist, how to take what the artist is doing and grow it) would you agree?

Well it depends on the terms of the agreement you have with the manager. Some manager would as they only work with you on managing your daily affairs but not going to seek opportunities & some will say they can do everything except artist development. And also these also come with different revenue shares.
Music Executive Course- Placement List
Hey, I’m in the process of completing the music executive course and I’m currently building up my placement list. I’m doing the manual method of copying and pasting music video/audio links onto a spread sheet. Is my math correct? 15 Artist divided by 1500 video links = 100 video links per artist

The math is right but why not automate the process as i can imagine copying & pasting for one artist might take a while as i assume you also adding metadata of each song?
Lyric videos
Anyone here use a free and easy tool for lyric video creation?

Heyyy NLN Gang! :)
My name is Ifeanyi Elswith (ee-fAHn-ee else-with). I'm an R&B/Hip-Hop singer-songwriter and rapper from Chicago :) I fuse both genres with elements of jazz, soul, pop, house, reggae, and dancehall with an alternative edge. I love the podcast, and am excited to connect with y'all.
