‘Bad’ concert behaviour
I was at a show last night and the person next to me was singing along to every word of every song. While that in and of itself is not a crime (maybe a bit of moderation mighta been nice?), this person also couldn’t have found the right key with GPS. Is there anything at a concert that absolutely drives you nuts when someone near you does it?

Singing is irritating, but more forgiveable than talking through a show. OMG I glare so hard.
What’s the farthest you’ve ever gone for a show?
I braved an ice storm for an out-of-town Nine Inch Nails show last night and it made me think of going on musical road trips. I think the furthest I’ve gone specifically for a concert is Minneapolis (from Toronto) though I’ve certainly caught concerts further away while already travelling. My (probably mathematically unbreakable) record there is Sydney.

Flew to Seattle from ATL for PJ Harvey!
Favorite music festival
Question to the group. What is your favorite music festival or one you have always wanted to attend. I have done to Pickathon the last three years and it is my favorite week of the summer!

Shaky Knees in ATL has been our fave for awhile, well organized, excellent lineup with a good mix of new bands and headliners. Geese, Idles, CMAT, Orville Peck, but also Hives, Alabama Shakes, Public Enemy, Pixies and My Morning Jacket. It felt too big and pricey last year. .We also love the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. Best food, best people and widest variety of culture and music, by far!

Honeysuckle Blue -Drivin n Cryin
when things feel heavy
When I'm doing the show and I play some mellow or sad music, I often get people checking in if I'm okay. The irony is, that is not what I go to when I'm feeling down. I go to the classics, the anchors, the seminal records that have kept me afloat all these years like The Joshua Tree, Earth Sun Moon, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Let Me Come Over, Cooper Blue and many many more. I'm curious, when things feel heavy, what kind of music do you reach for? Quiet? Loud? Familiar? Something new?

Belle and Sebastian and REM Out of Time are my go-tos when I need a musical companion to make me feel better.
