Failure is part of the process
If youāre not reading Grit with us, I highly encourage you to grab a copy or listen to the audiobook. š§š A part of the book this morning reminded me of something powerful: Failure is normal. Mistakes are normal. Yet from a young age, many of us are conditioned to feel shame or guilt when we mess up. That conditioning teaches us to AVOID trying new things⦠because at our core, we want to be accepted. But growth doesnāt live in avoidance. It lives in courage. So hereās my challenge for you this week: Pick ONE thing that makes you nervous and do it. It could be: - Posting or interacting more in this group - Trying a new workout class - Going to lunch by yourself - Signing up for that class to learn a new language - Having a hard conversation Anything BIG or SMALL. Iāve evolved into someone who understands that failure isnāt fatal⦠but regret can last a lifetime. I still get nervous.I still feel fear.I still worry. But I also still show up and try. How can we expect ourselves to be experts at something weāve never even attempted? That kind of pressure isnāt fair ā and itās not how growth works. This week, letās choose courage over comfort. š BIG DAY TODAY OF GIVEAWAYS, congrats to ALL our winners!!! - @Tanner Pruett , @Katie Blankenship & @Tacia Miller for being our Super Bowl gift card winners! and @Katie Blankenship for being our BIG winner of the $100 gift card drawing we did as no one had selected the square where the final score ended up! - Our weekly winners for our Not More of The Same Challenge (weeks 1 - 4) , not for their scale movement, not for being perfect but for their consistency of showing up! @Sarah Finney @Katherine Staines @Erin Sprando @Shelia Bolick @Christina Lynch @Becca Martel @Krista Vega @Lisa Browning
