For the first time in YEARS… I’ve got gaps in my calendar.
If you’ve been around a while, you know that’s not been my normal. I’ve been booked out months in advance. Waitlist. Turning people away. The whole thing. And now? I’m looking at open slots. Honestly… this is new for me. A few things shifted this past year: – My waitlist has been served by a freelance artist I trained – Returning clients were redirected because I had no space – I’ve recently opened up more availability due to a change in my personal circumstances Which means… now I need to fill these empty slots. I could panic. Blame the economy. Say people aren’t spending. But that’s not how I like to do things. So this week I’m focusing on one thing: Control what I can control. ✔️ Pivoting my IG content back to studio treatments (we’ve been heavy on training content) ✔️ Exploring paid ads for the studio for the first time ever ✔️ Actively creating demand instead of waiting for it Every business has seasons. The difference is how you respond. If you’ve got gaps right now too… what are you actually doing about it? No head in the sand energy allowed in here. We make a plan and move. And if you want help mapping out your next move, you know you can book a call with me and I'll help you to map it out. Growth doesn’t come from comfort. It comes from ownership. Kim x

💬 Struggling With Your Pre-Sketch? Comment “SKETCH” Below 👇
If your pre-sketch lines keep coming out too dark, too thick or too smudgy, you're not alone. This is hands down one of the most common frustrations I hear from artists—even those who’ve been doing PMU for years. I’ve just put together a quick set of free video lessons to help with exactly this, covering: ✅ How to get your pencil razor sharp (without snapping it every 2 seconds) ✅ How to stretch the skin properly for clean, crisp lines ✅ How to sketch with light, controlled pressure and the right angle These are short, simple, and pulled straight from my pro training content. If you want the lessons, just comment “SKETCH” below. I’ll DM you the next steps and send you the free PDF with the links inside. Let’s clean up those pre-sketches and make your patterns easier to execute 💪 Kim x

An end-of-year pause 🤍
It’s that end-of-year feeling, isn’t it? Where things slow down a bit and you start reflecting. I’m heading to Mexico tomorrow with my family and friends for a couple of weeks. A mix of city, beach, and switching my brain off properly. It made me think about how much work it takes to build a business that gives you choice. A lot of small decisions stacked over time. Before we wrap this year up… 👉 What’s one thing you’re proud of yourself for in 2025? Big or small. Drop it below 👇 I’d genuinely love to read them.

Have a great time with your family & friends. 💃. My biggest achievement in 2025 as I am able to get a pixelated finish for powder brows & will start taking clients in January 2026. Hurray! I am so happy for my achievement.

I’m fairly new to the PMU industry and currently live in Orlando, FL. I founded The Essentials by Shabana, and you can find my work on Instagram at @theessentialsbyshabana. I’m a licensed cosmetologist and previously ran my own beauty studio in Pakistan for over 12 years. About two years ago, my family and I moved from Pakistan to Orlando, where I transitioned into the Permanent Makeup (PMU) field.

I’ve completed my Powder Brows course, and although my hand position, pressure, and speed are well-developed, I’m still working on perfecting pixelated eyebrows and lip pigmentation techniques. So far, my specialty is Powder Brows, and I absolutely love creating soft, natural results. I couldn’t imagine my life without my friends, family, and my Higher Power — they keep me grounded and inspired.I’m really looking forward to connecting with all of you and continuing to learn and grow together. 🌸
Goals for the week 🚀
Happy Monday🥳 What's your #1 focus for this week? And what could STOP you from achieving it?
