OpenAI AgentBuilder vs. Google ADK
How relevant Google ADK compared to OpenAI Agent Builder? OpenAI looks super simple. Should we migrate?

Make sure to try out grok-code-fast-1
Claude-4 is incredible! I’ll keep recommending it as the #1 model because the reasoning and depth it brings to coding projects is hard to beat. The challenge is that I’m building 9 projects at once right now. When you are coding daily at that scale, even the best models start to add up in cost. So I went hunting for a lighter option I could lean on in Cursor. I tried Gemini-2.5-Pro. I tried GPT-5. Both solid. Then I tested grok-code-fast-1. Here is what I found: - Way faster than Grok-4 (they were not kidding with “fast” in the name) - Free right now in Cursor - For raw speed and responsiveness, I have been enjoying it more than Gemini-2.5-Pro and GPT-5 If you are coding on a budget or just tired of waiting around for long completions, this is worth trying. I will keep sharing how it holds up as I push it across my projects. If you try out the model, I'd love to hear what you think about it!

GPT-5-mini is also very promising. I have been using on Github Copilot, unlimited.
429 Errors - Rate Limiting
Hey guys, I'm recently building with ADK, thanks to @Brandon Hancock. My problem is that, I'm constantly hitting 429 errors, even when I use API key from Vertex AI. How do you handle this situation? Do you have any fallback strategy? After chatting with AI, I come up with this idea that maybe I can implement a global callback after models and when it hit the 429 error the system might use another Gemini API. Open for discussion, would love to hear more about how you would handle.

@Tom Welsh Thanks Tom. I checked the Provisioned Throughput before and see an enterprise level pricing. I think its out of options with this cost. How do you handle the "conditional to send your request to another platform/model."? Are you using callbacks? Which level callbacks would work? Or any other way around would be welcomed.
Gemini CLI: Free Coding Agent - Real World Coding Test & First Impressions
Google just surprised developers with Gemini CLI, a brand-new coding agent you can run entirely from your terminal for exactly $0. Sounds incredible…but does it actually deliver? In my latest video I put Gemini CLI through a real world coding challenge so you can see its power (and any pitfalls) before you install. Here’s what you’ll learn: ✅ Quick rundown of Google’s surprise Gemini CLI announcement—and why it matters. ✅ 60-second install so you can start testing immediately. ✅ Real-World Test #1 (Easy): Bug Fix – patch a small production bug on a website in minutes. ✅ Real-World Test #2 (Hard): New Feature – add a full feature to an existing web app: new DB table, API endpoints, and UI components. ✅ Real-World Test #3: From-Scratch Build – spin up a brand-new app, just like starting fresh with Lovable. ✅ My final verdict – is Gemini CLI ready to replace your paid coding tools? If you’re serious about saving time on coding tasks, you do not want to miss this walkthrough. Cheers, Brandon Hancock 🧑‍💻

What are the task templates? Would be great if we've access them in a repo.
