Armbar triangle omoplata?
It's your choice. The opportunity arises, which do you take? 😏

@Zac Sway i should go for armbars more often but i think i just end up more naturally attempting triangles and hitting omoplatas

@Ian McPherson and of course you can always add in a cheeky little wristlock or toehold if they are fighting it too hard
Favorite mount escapes?
I know it can be situational but what are your favorite techniques to escape mount?

What’s up Jiu Jitsu For Anyone family 👊🔥
I wanted to jump in here and say hello and also apologize for being a little absent the last two weeks. Outside of Jiu-Jitsu, I’m also a realtor, and I had fallen pretty far behind on my continuing education classes. In order to renew my license, I had to lock in and knock out two straight weeks of coursework. At the same time, a pretty traumatic family situation came up that required my full attention. Life happens. And sometimes when it does, you have to step up and handle what’s in front of you. But here’s the beautiful thing about Jiu-Jitsu… It teaches us how to deal with pressure. It teaches us how to stay calm when life mounts us. It teaches us to frame, breathe, adjust, and move forward. And that’s exactly what we’re doing. We are officially back full steam ahead. 🔥 Questions. Podcast episodes. Instructionals. Breakdowns. Community engagement. All of it. Myself, Professor McPherson, and Sean are fully committed to this mission of bringing Jiu-Jitsu to anyone no matter your age, background, or experience level. Life may throw things at us. But Jiu-Jitsu is forever. Thank you all for your patience and your belief in this community. We’ve got some awesome stuff coming your way. Much love. OSS. 🤙🔥

For the love of the game!
Hey everyone! It's been a busy month. I know some of us have been busy competing. Some of us have been crazy with work. Let's jumpstart things and start chatting more! What's a cool new technique you learned recently?

@Sophia McLeroy sometimes the most 'basic' stuff is the best

YOUR JIU-JITSU STORY STARTS HERE
🎥 INTRODUCE YOURSELF: This is your spot to step in, show your face (or voice 👀), and tell the community who you are and why jiu-jitsu matters to you. Post a short video (30–90 seconds) and hit as many of these as you want: 1️⃣ Who you are Name, where you’re from, and how long you’ve been training (or if you’re brand new). 2️⃣ Why you started jiu-jitsu What pulled you onto the mats? Fitness, confidence, self-defense, competition, mental health, community — whatever it was. 3️⃣ What you LOVE about jiu-jitsu Be honest. The grind, the problem-solving, the chaos, the discipline, the people, the way it humbles you — all of it counts. 4️⃣ Where you’re at right now Beginner? Returning after time off? Competing? Just trying to survive rounds and breathe? 😅 No judgment here. 5️⃣ Your goals Short-term and long-term: - Get in shape - Learn the fundamentals - Compete - Build confidence - Stay consistent - Train for life Say it out loud. It matters. 6️⃣ One thing you’re working on Could be technical, physical, or mental: - Guard retention - Escapes - Cardio - Staying calm under pressure - Showing up consistently 💬 After you post: Drop a comment on at least one other intro and welcome them in. This is how the culture gets built. This community isn’t about ego, belts, or highlight reels. It’s about real people, real stories, and real progress — on and off the mats. Let’s hear your story 👊🥋🔥

@Chris Burns hey Chris! Glad to have you here! Sounds like you've got a wealth of experience and I'm looking forward to your ideas and what you can share with the community! I love your thoughts on honesty with oneself with training. It's good to meditate on what went well, what didn't go well, and how to make things better. I'm also curious to learn more about what judo techniques and takedowns you've brought to your bjj game. How often do you get further south? It'd be cool to see you over here in the Acworth/Kennesaw region sometime!

@Adrian Guzman it sounds like you have a lot of good goals. It's important to try to stay consistent if possible but yeah sometimes life gets busy. Glad to have you here. Me and my wife got my boy into martial arts young. It's such a good skill to build confidence and prepare for tough times in life
