POSTAPHOBIA (IYKYK) 😱
And if you don’t yet… you soon-ish will. Let’s crack it together. First up, I’ve been talking about this for yonks (hmmm, that's maybe a Brit saying-thinking out loud), and it came up again in a conversation with a juicy convo with @Éva Raposa (yes, she always brings those, keepin it real kinda chats), thanks for sparking back this spark btw… Anyways...It totes reminded me how many of us are carrying this quietly, especially if we’ve been in lots of different communities over time. Ok, full transparency because LOL at pretending otherwise… So, I was literally sat here thinking what the frick should I post in this group and how could it actually be useful or supportive to someone, instead of just posting for the sake of posting, pffft And then I realised… DUH… this is one of the conversations I have ALL. THE. TIME. People telling me they don’t know what to write. Don’t know what to post. Feel like they’ve got nothing to say. Feel like nobody actually cares anyway. And honestly, if you’ve ever thought any of that, you’re not broken, you’re not behind, and you’re DEFINITELY not alone. A lot of this comes from what I call POSTAPHOBIA!!!! 🫨 Yep, it’s a (mimi-fied) thing + yup, I have it too. It usually comes from being in loads of different spaces, all with different vibes, different rules, different expectations. Maybe you’ve had posts deleted before. Maybe you’ve been told “this isn’t relevant here”. Maybe you shared something once and it landed weird. All of that stuff gets stored in your body and suddenly posting feels… risky AF. Uncomfortable. Like you might do it “wrong”= internal eeeeekkk, gulp... So instead of doing something, you freeze. Overthink. Then balls to it, you do NAFF ALL, NADA, NOT A TOFU SAUSAGE. And here’s the bit I really want you to hear. We are ALL here - in SKOOL, in communities, in groups - because we have something to share. We didn’t accidentally end up here. We might be at totally different stages, with different-sized communities, different confidence levels, different energy… but we’re all here because we care about building something. A community. An idea. An impact. A business.

Postaphobia - how true! What to say, should I say it, is it even worth it, will I ever get these simple philosophies out to the people who actually need to hear them? Thanks for the encouragement!

5 truths about fitness and movement
1. Consistency beats intensity. Showing up daily—even for 15 minutes—outlasts any “perfect” workout. 2. Movement is medicine. For me Wrestling, walking, playtime with my son—it all counts. Don’t overcomplicate it. 3. Fuel matters. Eat real food, hydrate, and remember: energy is the foundation of creativity. 4. Recovery is underrated. Sleep, stretching, and rest days are where growth actually happens. 5. Make it joyful. Fitness isn’t punishment—it’s a chance to celebrate vitality, family, and and resilience. Providing simple easy to implement advice, fitness, philosophy, and a safe place to ask those questions that come up about adulting actively. Check out Lifelong Mover here and other socials.

#Feature Story - my motivation for PYT Plan your Tech
I've been trying to have a business online for years. My main drive is to earn enough money so that my wife can leave her work and focus on raising our daughter, we both would like that very much. She hates having to work most of the day and not be able to give as much attention to her as she'd like. I tried being a career guidance coach. I tried doing freelancing for translation or teaching english. Nothing worked. Untill one day a friend of mine referred me to a podcaster from the US who needed help with some issues. He liked me and eventually I went from giving support for a few things to managing his whole tech stack. After a while I tried to do freelancing work. Got a gig of someone to setup his skool community. From that I created my own. After a lot of feedback and tweaks I got where I am now, not a huge community, but I'm really happy with where things are going.

My life story is sort of a mix of the Karate Kid, Kung Fu Panda, and Chinatown Nights. It's so unbelievable that I simply don't post it because I have never been ready to get the blowback of people who simply roll their eyes at it. But I need to start. So here's the first, very short version. About 40 years ago I was a very troubled young man. Parents were abusive alcoholics so I moved out at 16. Despite being to top student in my high school, with the highest gpa up until right at the end, and having completed all of the math and science classes offered by my junior year and having nothing to do in my senior year, I didn't graduate. I was busy making rent and my attendance reckrds got me. I was adrift. I met this old guy and hung out with him a lot. He told crazy martial arts stories. Movie stuff. Fighting for the Tong stuff. I thought they were total BS. But I listened anyway. I liked him. Turned out they weren't BS. He sent me to learn from one of his instructors. Pretty much the Karate Kid story with one exception. We were the Cobra Kai. We wore black. We were who everyone feared. When I became skilled enough I became his student. I had priviledges no one else had. He taught me the secrets he had been holding back. He was older, in poor health, and I ended up getting 8 years of him teaching me every day. There's a Tai Leoung in the story too. Bad guy in Kung Fu Panda. And other than to say that he wanted me dead and tried many times, I'll leave the details out for now. As my Grandmaster aged he softened. He became less bad guy and more good guy. Which I believe he always actually was. He wanted to pass his knowledge on. Originally his intent was to pass it to Tai Leoung but it went to me. His last words were "We'll make Phil do it! And I'll watch over him and make sure he does it right!". He sat up in his deathbed and said that and then fell back and died. At his funeral hundreds of the meanest, toughest men I've ever knkwn stood up one by one, weeping, and each told a similar story. They had been on a bad path. One that would have led them to death or jail. And Sijo had turned their life around. Now they were family men. Doing good things.
