"Perfectionism is the enemy of action." Wow! I feel like I've just been punched in the gut 😖. As a 'recovering' perfectionist, this hit home. I have no problem taking action, I will just undo much of what I've done because it isn't 'perfect'. Case in point, I got the Course Creation workbook off the LYE website and got stuck into into it. Loved it! Felt pretty good about a course I'd like to pilot. Walked away to mull things over for a few days and came back to rewrite the whole damn thing. I said I'm a 'recovering' perfectionist because although I have managed to shift this mindset in some areas of my life, it still tends to crop up from time to time - especially around the big, life-altering stuff, like setting out to build on online EAL business. A key takeaway from this module for me though, was "embrace the 1% mentality". So my start point is the free 30 minute consult to get some direction.

@Adrian Navarro Thanks for the support! It's a work in progress. At the moment, I'm just laying the groundwork for the pilot/proof of concept.

Some ways to do this: - make useful posts consistently - share tips that have worked for you - ask good questions - offer advice to those you believe you can help One thing is for sure: everyone here wants to see YOU succeed. STEP 3 RESOURCES: Everyone is at a different stage of their business, and we have resources here to help you with where you are.

Hi everyone! My name is Samantha and I live in Toronto, Canada. I'm originally from South Africa, where I worked as a Learning and Development consultant crafting workplace skills development programs for FMCG companies. When I moved to Canada and started working in a settlement agency, I was inspired to get into TESL. I've mainly been teaching newcomers and immigrants, however I want to set up my own online teaching business, a)to have further reach, and b)to have more freedom and flexibility with what I do. As a complete newbie teacherpreneur, I need lots of help and guidance! There's so much information out there, both for teachers and also for prospective students/clients. It's great to have a community of fellow travelers with whom to share the adventures of setting up and running a teaching business. My business goal for the next 30 days is really to get clarity on my niche. I have a lot going on so my timelines will by necessity have to be stretched out. I'm really excited to be here, and trust that I will have some value to contribute to the community in return.
