To Thine Own Self Be True
So I joined the TPE Open Day and learned how the course has transformed the lives of @Damian Baca, @Sally Whitham and @Kevin Koelzer. It was a great eye opener for me and I spent the next few days deliberating on whether I should apply for one of the available scholarships. If I can't (yet) even complete the courses offered in the premium subscription (or even the free courses) offered by Mastering.com, then I shouldn't even consider securing something that would be of greater benefit to others with better, more focussed mindsets. So I haven't applied. Congratulations in advance to the scholarship winners. It's a brilliant opportunity!

Good to think it through like that... but sorry it's not going to work for you at the moment. Is it that you don't have the time (work, family etc) or is it that you're not organising your time effectively (something I've struggled with)? Hope to see you at some stage Simon.
Do you like working with background sound?
What do you think of this for background music/sound to work to? Feedback? https://www.youtube.com/live/h8GyCOebpoY?si=8WU5F9xiQRzIoygi

I'm afraid I can't read/study whilst sound or music is present. I've never been able to for some reason. But I'd try something like this for relaxation/meditation.
Another thing to do at the weekend because you have nothing better to do
I have a new musical phrase that I have come across it is anhemitonic pentatonic scale. 2 parts to this challenge: 1. Does anyone know what this means before looking it up. 2. Could you casually drop this phrase in to a conversation. (This is not my idea, but John Powell in his book How Music Works. An excellent read) Enjoy

@Anna Gregory But 'pentatonic' is just whole tones... so it means the same surely!! I'll look it up and get back to you with that!! Got me thinking!! But no... never heard of it.... and to me I would never slip it in to conversation as it sounds pretentious 🤣

Having now looked it up... it's news to me that "Pentatonic" can mean any 5 note scale. That wasn't my training.... so my understanding of a pentatonic scale is the anhemitonic version. Still sounds pretentious to me!!!
New Song Release!
Hey everyone! So I just launched a new artist project called "tethermind," and the debut single, "Noize," is officially live on all platforms. 🪐 What makes this one extra cool is that it's a collaboration between four of us here at mastering.com. I composed, arranged, and wrote the lyrics; @Lucy Warr nailed the emotion and vibe with her vocals; Chris Georgiou took the vocal production to a top-tier level; and @Damian Baca spiced it all up with some dope sound design and did the final mix/master. Here's the link to stream: https://ditto.fm/noize-tethermind Thanks!

It’s brilliant. Love it. Great collaboration.
By way of celebrating international women's day I have a task...
The task, because we have nothing better to do on Sunday, is to see how many songs with female names in the title. Do this for a minute see how many you come up with. Put the number and perhaps link to your favourite track in the chat. (I found it is best to think about this a while before you time yourself because I only managed 5 in the minute 😜)

@Daniel Brooks CA Mustang Sally as you say, is a classic... so would definitely sing a long to that... and I always hoped I'd get an invitation to lay down by the side of Eric Clapton... so that's always been a favourite!! 🤣 Happy to connect!!
