What did you do for fun this weekend, and how was your first day back at work?
I visited friends in Houston, TX, went on a 40 mile tandem bike ride with my Honey Bunny and 10 friends, enjoyed meals out together, and came back to job hunt, Skool community development, and learning how to create so much value for job hunters, career changers, and people who want more in their lives, that we can all get what we want and build our best lives ever. What did you do for fun this weekend, and how was your first day back at work this week?

This past weekend had some interesting highlights. - I took my dog, Luckydo, to a dog park to meet up with some other dog owners who are part of the Austin Dog Parents Social Club. Normally Luckydo avoids being too social because some bad experiences as a rescue. He was more brave than normal. - I had the chance to catch up with a long-time friend for a few hours. - I spent some time working on combining content from several disparate sources into Obsidian, the system I use to keep track of my D&D campaign. Some of my nerdy parts of me that like organizing information and storytelling really enjoyed that activity. - I finished reading a preview copy of the book "How to Live a Meaningful Life" and set up a template to complete the exercises the book provides. - I then got together with some folks from Meet5 and shared some time chatting and enjoying some great Texas BBQ. - Since I'm unemployed, my Monday morning involved searching for and applying to jobs. I then had the opportunity to hit the gym for a workout and then meet up with one of my groups for a few hours of D&D.
💡 Quick Win: The Pattern Recognition Framework
**Most accomplished professionals think their problem is:** - Bad resume - Wrong network - Not enough skills - Bad timing **The real bottleneck? Pattern blindness.** You can't see the dynamics keeping you stuck because you're inside them. That's where this community (and I) come in—we spot the blind spots in team dynamics and relationships that keep high-performers undervalued. **ANSWER THESE THREE QUESTIONS BELOW:** **1. THE ENERGY AUDIT** What drains your energy most at work? (Be specific: meetings, certain people, types of tasks, work environment) **2. THE REPEAT PATTERN** What frustration keeps showing up across different jobs, teams, or projects? (The thing that makes you think "here we go again...") **3. THE INVISIBLE COST** What are you tolerating right now that you wouldn't accept if you truly believed you had other options? 📍 **Comment below with your answers.** **I'll reply within 24 hours** with what I see in your pattern—the blind spot you might be missing. Don't overthink it. Raw honesty beats polished answers every time. This 5-minute exercise has led to breakthroughs for dozens of professionals who thought they "just needed a better job." 👇 Drop your audit below

One of my English teachers in grade school wrote in my yearbook a long time ago, "You are a wealth of untapped potential." I'm not sure that's changed since high school. I'd like to change that. My friends often seem perplexed that they see me being remarkably smart and talented, and that I don't give myself enough credit and am capable of so much more. The challenge may be a cascade of: - Not personally knowing my potential, or in business terms, my value proposition. - Not knowing that value proposition leads to me to sell myself short, perhaps to avoid failure. - I then tend to undersell myself. As far as help, It may come down to helping me to identify strengths and how to apply those strengths to tap into that wealth of potential.

Then come back and introduce yourself below by answering these three questions: 1. **Who are you?** (Name, current role, industry) 2. **What do you do for fun?** (This reveals more patterns than you think. Share a hobby, interest, or how you spend free time) 3. **What's your 90-day career goal?** (Be specific. "Get a better job" is vague. "Land a senior PM role at a product-led SaaS company making $150K+" is clear.) I read every introduction and often reply with insights or resources. Drop your intro below 👇

Hi folks, I’m Ryan. I come from a background in business management, analytics, and project management, and I’m interested in finding new ways to make work more rewarding. I'm in a period of deep reflection after recovering from a debilitating health condition, looking for work after several years of unemployment due to that health condition, and I'm in the process of a divorce. For fun, I’m into strength training and put a lot of time and creative energy into Dungeons and Dragons as both a player and running a campaign as a Dungeon Master. I also get into adventures with people I encounter via a platform called Meet5, where we might get together for ice cream, go-cart racing, board games, laser tag, grabbing a few beers, or any number of events. Excited to meet you all and hear what you do for fun too!
