Why Some People Stay With Us
Think about the last book you read. 📕 A podcast 🎤 A conversation 🗣️ Or a talk that stayed with you 🤩 Was it because you learned something new? Maybe. But I'd guess there was also a story. A moment that helped the lesson come alive. That's the part we remember. Stories don't replace information. They give it meaning. And that's why storytelling matters so much. It’s that bridge that connects people. And it’s a way to help people feel something. ✨ I'd love to hear yours. What's a story you'll never forget, and why has it stayed with you?

🌙 What Are You Most Proud Of?
Let’s think of what makes you proud. 🥹 Not what you've completed. Not your word count. Not your productivity. You. What are YOU most proud of from this week? Maybe you: 🌿 kept going 🌿 got clearer 🌿 asked for help 🌿 faced something difficult 🌿 showed up when you didn't feel like it Take a moment and acknowledge it. What are you most proud of this week as a writer? ✍️

Making a collage with part of this poem by Em Claire that inspired me in book club this morning. I haven’t written a Substack article since April 10, and am focusing on my novel instead. Nice to drop something new though and show the lights are still on for my Substack audience.

My SKOOLx Signature Talk- Vote Now!
The Day My Shoes Melted: A Powerful Lesson About Persistence and Finishing What Matters This is my official entry for SKOOLx, and it's now live for voting. My talk is about taking that next step to get to your goal. I'll be honest, putting this together pushed me. I wrote this over so many times and focused on it for days. Then, I practiced it for hours and hours. But I'm proud of myself for finally allowing it to be finished. Sure, it needs work. But isn’t that why they’re having this competition, to help us make it better? If you feel that this resonates with you, I'd really appreciate your vote. Every vote counts and my dream is to make it to the finals! So, I'd love to have your support behind me with your melted shoes! 😉 (No shoes were harmed in the making of this talk) Vote here: https://forms.gle/bbqBf65BFVQaqvmP7 Voting ends on Monday, June 22nd! Check out the other competitors at The Public Speaking Community! Many great speeches to choose from! Thanks for your support! What did you think of my talk? Share in the comments! Very inspiring @Dani Rosenblad James I appreciate the reminder that we don’t have to have perfect conditions or shoes. One next step at a time. Voted for you!
What Would Happen If You Actually Finished?
Let's dream for a moment. Not about the book. 📕 About what happens after. If your book were finished What changes? Would you: 📖 speak more? 📖 grow your business? 📖 share your story? 📖 inspire others? 📖 finally prove to yourself you can do it? Sometimes remembering why we're writing is what helps us keep going. 👉 What would finishing your book make possible?
