Packing boxes.
Can we repurpose some of the million Amazon boxes that show up to my house for DLA? If so, what do I have to cover up?

Yes for sure with COTS, and I have used the box that my vendors send the product to me in. However that is a good question for @Day Cantave . Should I get any items that are COTS from Amazon I will give it a wirl! @Jason Yahner
Free Product
If you're using 4x6 thermal printing paper for shipping labels, you can get them for free at UPS. You first need a create a UPS business account to order them which is free as well. You get 6,000 shipping labels for free.

These are great tips @Calrin Faulkner do you have a document that shares this information. Or FedEx and UPS location are charging and when asked they were very quick to say no to the suppliers.

Contracts past the due date
Are there any drawbacks to bidding on dibbs contracts that are past the due date? And does the lead time to deliver the products change after the due date is passed?

That is a great question @Cantesia Vickers . So bidding on pastdue dates is the best. Why because no one may have not been awarded. In that case you may be the only one submitting a bid. The due date is up to you on all bids. Do not allow the due dates of bids to sway you for the lead time as well. @Day Cantave has mentioned on his YouTube channel as well give yourself a 120 day lead time to get the product to the government. So if you were told by your vendor 10 then add 120 days to that so you have time to get the products ordered and shipped! If you deliver sooner than promised that is great. Just never want to deliver late that will affect you doing business with DLA. Hope this helps @Cantesia Vickers .

Yeah so the lead time is really not a factor. When your are submitting your bid you have a place to put your lead time. So example if you win an award and the due date was last Friday and put your lead time as 120 days from the award date then you have the full 120 days to deliver your product to the government. Hope this helps @Cantesia Vickers
Certification
Hell everyone. Does anyone know if we have to get ISO-9001 certified?

We're here to learn
We're not here to hit a homerun on our first at bat, we're here to learn. Teach us how to hit, then eventually with consistent practice we'll hit a homerun someday. As for right now, we're in California taking batting practice lol... thanks everyone, we respect all knowledge you all bring.

Welcome to the community @Morris Burford this is a great resource tool to get started in the govcon biz. However batting practice is good for sure. But you guys have to get in the game! Lol the only advice is to ask questions and the community can help you guys. The real step is to just take some action by picking a product, then getting some quotes and submit some bids. If you make a mistake the government is not coming to knock down your door! This is a great opportunity for anyone that is willing to put the work in. You can have your first contact award in 45 days or less!
