Code Assistant ShipKitAI
@Brandon Hancock As I dive deeper into app development using ShipKitAI, I’ve finally run into the issue of context limits. I’m using Claude Code on the Pro plan, and I’m trying to understand how others handle this. When your context window resets, how do you make sure the model picks up exactly where you left off? Do you create an additional “status” or “progress” markdown document that the code assistant can re-load to re-establish the full implementation state? Also, I’m considering an additional AI subscription (ChatGPT) since it offers Codex-style capabilities. Has anyone here used it, and how does it compare in practice?

I was the one that built the Claude Ignore. Here's a link to the repo if you're interested: https://github.com/CodeRod-Solutions/claude_ignore_optimizer I assume you're talking about running out of tokens for the week? if that's the case then by all means definitely optimize your ignore file. One thing you can do to make sure the system keeps context is just ensure you're having the system update your Claude.md file every day. When using Claude Ignore, that doesn't mean that Claude can't read the files. You just have to explicitly tell Claude to read the files or directories that you have in that ignore file in your prompt. If Claude executing a `ls` to see all the files, that's when the ignore comes into play and Claude won't read them. I also use a master task list to update tasks when complete, it allows the system to read one file vs. going through every task file to see what the status of each task is. Also Gemini CLI has a very liberal usage policy when using Gemini Flash, I use that to create documentation of the non-code type tasks. If you go that route then create a Gemini.md and then you can have Claude read the Gemini.md to get a sense of what you've done waiting for the system to reset.
.claudeignore Optimizer
Got inspired by one of Brandon's videos and built something to fix the token burn issue with Claude Code. Claude Ignore Optimizer - auto-generates an optimized .claudeignore file for your project. What it does: - Detects your framework/stack automatically, - Finds duplicate AI configs (.cursor, .windsurf, etc.), - Ignores build artifacts, lock files, git history, - Keeps your actual code visible, Just ran it on my Next.js project: went from 236 files to 90 relevant ones. 75% token reduction. Takes like 2 minutes to run. Open source. https://github.com/CodeRod-Solutions/claude_ignore_optimizer I haven't quite figured out how to get it to work with Claude Code CLI quite yet however that works great with desktop and Claude web
Claude code
Hi there! When using Claude code on the terminal do you all use it within a container or is it safe to use it directly in the terminal (using cursor for example) opening it in a project? Thanks!

Either or works, I prefer the terminal - Brandon has a great tips here: https://www.skool.com/ai-developer-accelerator/new-video-coaching-call-moved-claude-code-skills-automate-everything-you-do?p=699f0ce9
Intro
Hey everyone, I’m Rod Morrison 👋 My AI journey started on the data side — helping companies clean up their data and get business value from it, from creation to deletion. That pulled me deeper into AI and into my work with Raken AI Labs, where I build and launch SaaS AI products. Lately I’ve been focused on agents + structured data — figuring out how to move past toy demos and into systems that actually reason, automate, and scale inside real businesses. Looking forward to learning from what you’re building and sharing a bit from my own experiments.
