Something I like Besides Gardening!
I wanted to share something more about myself, so you can get to know me on a more personal level. I love photography and photographing around my hometown of Mullumbimby on the far north coast of NSW. A little over two weeks ago I took these photos over my back fence during sunrise. The first image looks like it's in the outback in Australia somewhere. The second photo is of the cows in fog. I have image one hanging in my house now. Do you have something else that you love and are passionate about? I would love to hear about it if you feel comfortable enough to share with us all. Don't worry, we will be staying on topic here with the theme of edible gardening, but it just feels so nice to be able to share something like this from time to time!

Tomato question
Ive never had much success with tomatoes so need some advice. I don't remember when I bought this seedling or when I planted it. But it was a single seedling that bunnings was selling off cheap as it was a bit of a weird shape and had a bit broken off. I thought id get it and give it a go. Anyway my problem is it has so many big bunches of tomatoes that are just not ripening. It feels like the full sized fruit has been sitting their not ripening for weeks and weeks. This is a very novice question and perhaps this is normal, but if it's not is there anything I can do to help them along. Ive given them seaweed solution, worm castings, blood and bone, kept the excess leaves pruned for good air flow. Any advice is very much appreciated.

Hi Charlene, I have exactly the same tomato growing which has come from my compost the interesting thing is I can’t recall us even buying a tomato of this shape it seems to be growing well only about 2 mths old now I wonder if I will have the same ripening issue as you,try and keep you posted.
What is Your Favourite Mulch and Why?
My favourite mulch is wood chips but lately I have been using the grass bales after I grow my winter lettuce in them. What is your favourite mulch and why? Please share in the comments below as it’s mulching time all around the globe. Keep your soil warm in winter, cool in summer and not exposed to the elements. While building soil at the same time! Looking forward to hearing from you all and any mulching tips you might have! Happy Gardening Marty

I use wood chips that my local arborist company cannot sell as it usually has a lot of palm in it , Because of the palm content I get it for free delivered I have put it in the bottom of my raised beds as a filler.I have been using it in the garden for a few years now some loads look better than others once spread it looks ok. When it has broken down it turns into lovely soil , I just pull out any palm fronds and put them in a separate compost pile they will eventually break down or could use them in the next raised bed again.
