Happy Saturday!
Hello guys! I hope you are all well. How has your week been? My week has been very exciting🤩 I started my new job in "my new country", and I really appreciate how all the team is very supportive, making me feel welcomed. I expected a good start, but I must admit that I'm very impressed by how my department care about each new starter and how they are guiding me in my new role. I'm thrilled to see what's next! Since work is important, well-being is important as well. So, today I'm gonna relax, enjoy my time and take care of myself by doing exercises. What about you, guys? I wish you all a lovely weekend ❤️
Happy Saturday!

@Getrude Orodo Yeah, it takes a lot to get used to the controller 😹. And as I mentioned to @Flavia Cotza , I made a promise I intend to keep . Let me crack on with cleaning. Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone 🙏
Career Prompt Reflection
Good Morning and Happy Tuesday! I hope your week has started with the right energy and insights! I have a prompt for you this morning to stimulate you in your career reflection. Lately on social media, I observed a strange/silly behaviour: people who glorify themselves because wearing multiple hats. Do you know?! When someone does many things at once generally speaking s/he doesn't do anything well. They couldn't never been the best at anything but only generalist in many things. In our culture lately we also tent to confusing term: multitasking, for example, doesn't mean wearing different hats, it means, in a given contest or situation, to be able to organise ownself time and resources for efficiency. For example an ICU nurse taking care of a sick patient, is not a multitasking nurse because of managing different things at the same time (monitor, ventilation, syringe pumps etc) but s/he is a specialised nurse, because she's been trained to take care to complex patients, and so s/he multitasking in that give moment (during shift). This is why, in normal condition, it is one nurse per patient! This is the reason why specialised nurses earn more than general nurses or specialised doctors earn more than general practitioner. And this is true for any profession (layers, accountants, etc) So my question for you is: if you have a problem or a need, that you need to solve as soon as possible and well, would you go to the specialist or to the generalist? Who would you prefer to take care of you? And most importantly: would you prefer spend more money once and be sure that your problem or need is addressed properly, or do you prefer spend less money but several times and risk that your problem or need would never be solved? This question should drive your career decision. Why? Because is the same question that your patients/clients ask themselves when they decide to give their needs (or money) to you. That's true, get specialised requires time and effort but it is a commitment that repays so much in the long run!

I would prefer a specialised role. But as @Flavia Cotza explained in details, it really depends with the situation at hand.
A big milestone achieved!
Hello amazing community!!!! Today it’s finally time to share with you all an amazing news! I achieved a huge milestone in my nursing career. If four years ago someone had told me that I would have become a UK RN, working in my favorite field, I wouldn’t have believed a word. And… I would have been wrong! Completely! After a long and tough journey, I’m about to start working as a nurse in Critical Care in the UK. This means so much to me. Why am I sharing this with you? Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to brag. For me, this community is a place where every member can share their career milestones and encourage each other. Sharing issues is important in order to find solutions, and sharing achievements is important too, as it motivates and inspires nurses worldwide. Today I want to celebrate this moment with you and to say thank you to all the people who have encouraged me and helped me not to give up and believe in myself. Particularly, A huge thank you to @Dina Paoloni, for being beside me all along my journey with her teachings and her mentorship. I wouldn’t be where I am without your constant support. A big thank you to @Samantha Gounden, for helping me improve my communication skills as an ESL (English as a second Language). Thank you to myself and my courage for stepping forward, which has demonstrated that the direction was right. A new year has begun. A new adventure and a new career are going to start. And the best is yet to come 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

Past and future
Hello amazing community! I hope you are all doing well. As 2026 is approaching and 2025 is coming to an end, I like to reflect on what I had from this year and what my expectations are for the new one. To be honest, my 2025 has been a transition year, full of challenges, changes, and uncomfortable moments. But... it has also been a turning point in my career and personal life. I met new extraordinary people, experienced great and unique emotions, and exposed myself to paths I wouldn't ever have considered. What about 2026? I can't wait to see what the new year has in store for me. I'm about to start a new job in a new country. Everything is going to be different but I'm up for it! What does link the past and the new year? UNCERTAINTY. You may say… so what?! Uncertainty is part of life. Every day we don't know what's next. Yes, of course. I hope you do not get me wrong. Let me be sincere with you. When I lived and worked in my country, I didn't feel uncertainty as part of my everyday life. Uncertainty has become a real feeling when I moved abroad and when all the things around me changed. Sometimes uncertainty has become fear, fear of losing everything I've fought for. But, in 2025, I've learned how to deal with it, how to find courage and to step forward, even when I feel scared or I think I'm not good enough. Uncertainty will always be there, it's part and parcel of my journey. But it can also be something I can take advantage of, and push myself a bit more towards what really matters to me. To "fight" uncertainty for finding clarity. What about you guys? How has your year been? Have you ever had a similar experience? What are your feelings about the new year? Just have a chat and I wish you all the best for 2026! 🥂
