Happy Saturday!
Hello guys! I hope you are all well. How has your week been? My week has been very exciting🤩 I started my new job in "my new country", and I really appreciate how all the team is very supportive, making me feel welcomed. I expected a good start, but I must admit that I'm very impressed by how my department care about each new starter and how they are guiding me in my new role. I'm thrilled to see what's next! Since work is important, well-being is important as well. So, today I'm gonna relax, enjoy my time and take care of myself by doing exercises. What about you, guys? I wish you all a lovely weekend ❤️
Happy Saturday!

Career Prompt Reflection
Good Morning and Happy Tuesday! I hope your week has started with the right energy and insights! I have a prompt for you this morning to stimulate you in your career reflection. Lately on social media, I observed a strange/silly behaviour: people who glorify themselves because wearing multiple hats. Do you know?! When someone does many things at once generally speaking s/he doesn't do anything well. They couldn't never been the best at anything but only generalist in many things. In our culture lately we also tent to confusing term: multitasking, for example, doesn't mean wearing different hats, it means, in a given contest or situation, to be able to organise ownself time and resources for efficiency. For example an ICU nurse taking care of a sick patient, is not a multitasking nurse because of managing different things at the same time (monitor, ventilation, syringe pumps etc) but s/he is a specialised nurse, because she's been trained to take care to complex patients, and so s/he multitasking in that give moment (during shift). This is why, in normal condition, it is one nurse per patient! This is the reason why specialised nurses earn more than general nurses or specialised doctors earn more than general practitioner. And this is true for any profession (layers, accountants, etc) So my question for you is: if you have a problem or a need, that you need to solve as soon as possible and well, would you go to the specialist or to the generalist? Who would you prefer to take care of you? And most importantly: would you prefer spend more money once and be sure that your problem or need is addressed properly, or do you prefer spend less money but several times and risk that your problem or need would never be solved? This question should drive your career decision. Why? Because is the same question that your patients/clients ask themselves when they decide to give their needs (or money) to you. That's true, get specialised requires time and effort but it is a commitment that repays so much in the long run!

@Flavia Cotza I agree with you, so in this view, what would you prefer? get specialised or remain generalist? PS. I've edited the post for clarity

@Flavia Cotza my fault, I haven't been clear. this is why I edited the post.
Happy Sunday
Happy Sunday Everyone! I hope you are enjoying your day! I am working on "The Awakening Cycle" slides and I wanted to take a break and say hello! I am driven by a strong excitement of want this project is bringing: the more a work on it and the more I am convinced that it will change careers, lives and patients outcomes for the better! Tomorrow I'll back to clinic after nearly 20 days of Annual Leave (Never had Annual Leave on Christmas time before!) and I can't wait for Wednesday so that I can go back to my project. And you? Which project is driven you in this first quarter of the year? Could be work, family, business, hobby, faith related: whatever your heart and mind are align into! Leave it in the comments box below
Happy Sunday

@Getrude Orodo be careful to not start marketing before you proper define your niche and clear your message (your pitch!) Starting marketing before having a clear idea of your niche or a clear message could be a waste of money and momentum. Imposter syndrome is always present but having method and good feedback can help you. Reach out if you need 😉
Happy Monday!
I know today is an important day for some of you (no spoiler don't worry 😉) I personally come back to work after Annual leave... never had Annual leave on Christmas time before! It feels so strange 😅 but, I feel also excited to start a new year in this my new role! I have been working here only for 6 months (I've started in June) but I love it! A small team but the impact of patients is huge. The part that I love the most is educating patients and answer their questions. The most difficult part? It is educating patients and answer their questions! Also research is a big one! I am learning so much from the latest research paper publications. So today for me is a big start: a new year in this new role that after 6 months (learning and adjusting) I feel more confident in. So the goal for this year is becoming and fully embracing my role as Clinical Nurse Specialist. What does this year represents to you?

@Samantha Gounden sometimes growth happens in stillness and reflection. Not need to be busy all the time. Focus on what makes you happy and lift you up it is actually a good place where to star! We need to grow into what we meant to be, we can not hold the commitment otherwise. Sometimes it easy to burnout because we want to walk a step that is longer than our leg. Move in season based on the season we are in, it is always the best move! I am here if you need or at the HLA or at CEP 😉 😉
