Happy Mother’s Day ❤️
Today’s a moment to recognise all the incredible women out there who show up every single day for the people they love. The mums holding families together. The mums juggling a hundred things at once. The mums who are exhausted but still keep going. The mums who care, guide, support and protect. What you do matters more than you probably realise. And for anyone who finds today a little complicated or emotional, that’s okay too. You’re seen. To all the amazing women out there today we appreciate you. 🌸

The ADHD Overwhelm Stack📚
Most ADHD adults are carrying three layers of overwhelm simultaneously. 1️⃣ Mental Overwhelm 🧠 Too many thoughts running at the same time. Examples: • constant idea loops • unfinished thoughts • replaying conversations • trying to remember everything • racing mind at night The brain never fully switches off. Result: Mental fatigue before the day even begins. 2️⃣ Task Overwhelm 📋 This is the classic ADHD struggle. People look at their day and see: • too many tasks • no clear starting point • everything feels urgent The brain can’t prioritise. So instead of starting something… It starts nothing. 3️⃣ Emotional Overwhelm 💔 This is the hidden one. Years of ADHD struggles create emotional weight: • frustration • shame • feeling behind in life • pressure to keep up with others When emotional load builds, the nervous system becomes fragile. Even small tasks feel huge. Why This Matters When these three layers stack together, the brain goes into shutdown mode. People say things like: • “I’m paralysed.” • “My brain won’t work.” • “I know what to do but I can’t start.” That’s not laziness. That’s executive function overload.

THOUGHTFUL THURSDAY ❤️
ADHD brains spend a lot of time focusing on what we didn’t get done. So today… let’s flip that. Tag someone in ADHDreamer (or even outside the community) who you’ve noticed showing up, trying, building, or just doing their best this week. 🙌 Maybe they: ⚡ shared something honest 🧠 kept going even when their brain fought them 💬 supported someone else in the community 🚀 took a small step forward Sometimes people don’t realise the impact they’re having. Let’s remind them. ❤️ Drop their name below and tell them why you appreciate them. You might make their whole day. ⭐

ADHD & The Daily Regulation Battle🫶
Here’s something people don’t understand about ADHD. Regulation isn’t a skill you master once. It’s a daily negotiation. You don’t wake up “sorted” because you read a book or watched a video. You wake up with a nervous system that can shift three times before lunch. You can start calm. One email throws you. You recover. A small task overwhelms you. By mid-afternoon you’re wondering why everything feels harder than it should. That’s not weakness. That’s a high-sensitivity nervous system in a world built for steadiness. What’s actually exhausting isn’t the work. It’s the constant internal management: • Pulling yourself out of overwhelm • Talking yourself down from spirals • Restarting after shutdown • Calming rejection sensitivity • Forcing activation when your system says “no” That’s invisible effort. And you’re doing it daily. This is why productivity advice often falls flat. Because without regulation, no system sticks. Regulation comes first. Capacity before output. Safety before strategy. Not perfection. Not calm all the time. Just shortening the gap between: Dysregulated → Aware → Adjusted. That’s the real work. Be honest. Where does regulation hit you hardest right now? Morning activation? Overwhelm spikes? Emotional swings? Shutdown? Let’s talk about the real stuff.

You know, @Stephen Cassidy, the past two days, my brain felt like it was on the spin cycle of a washing machine and stuck in that cycle. I couldn't sort my thoughts, I couldn't work on one thing, when I tried, there was no focus, I even tried doing one of my puzzles to calm me down, which works, but not the last 2 days, so I dealt with it. I feel I know what the triggers were, which were unavoidable, but those days were really tough and the most hurtful part of it all is, no one around me gets me. Last night, I finally broke, started crying, which I never do, bc of this and found my quiet spot.
