NT scan today went well
In random news, I am really liking the empathy and sensitivity of the medical system I’m going to. They ask you if you want to be weighed and if you want to know (that was the last appointment) and then only show you the number instead of announce to you and partner. I don’t care at all but they just do things like that that give you some agency. In today’s scan they told me what they could before the doctor reviews it and didn’t make me wait long at all for the results. Then the tech just talked with me for a while about age gaps in kids and the pregnancy in general like I was a normal pregnant person and congratulated me several times even though I’m not newly pregnant. She could just tell that I had white knuckled the whole scan and just took time to make me feel normal after the results came in and share in some happiness. I’m happy with the outcome of the fertility clinic I’ve been going to for years (being pregnant now) but I have to say that it’s fairly cold and clinical and it’s nice to be treated like a person these days.

I'm so glad you've found a medical team that treats you like a person, and celebrates every step with you! It makes such a difference!
Hello
Hi all, I'm Kate from New Jersey. Currently 11 weeks pregnant via IVF due to infertility and genetic reasons (found out during infertility workup). Still processing/grieving the whole IVF process, my first failed transfer, and losing the possibility of conceiving on my own in the future.

Hi Kate, nice to meet you! I can relate with the grief that comes with infertility. It took us 5 years and I'm grieving so much of what I thought life would have looked like by now. Thinking of you!
Hi Everyone!
My name is Carly, living in the Denver area and I am 35. I am 19 weeks pregnant today after 4 years of infertility treatments and loss. IVF pregnancy and feeling anxious! Not a very anxious person as a general rule so these feelings are new to me and I am hopeful that this community can help me work through some of those feelings

Nice to meet you! I can relate--it took us several years as well. Love the Denver area! Are you outdoorsy?

@Carly Huffman So fun!! We hike and we camp every summer in Colorado. Not this one because I'm due early July, but most other years!
Hi!
Hi - I'm Eden. I'm 34 and live in New York. Currently 9 weeks pregnant via reciprocal IVF with my wife (using her egg). We had been trying to conceive for 1.5 years before this: 4 failed IUIs (1 was a chemical), 2 hysteroscopies, 2 low yielding egg retrievals from me (I have low AMH), 1 egg retrieval from my wife. Just trying to take it one day at a time... Looking forward to connecting with you all!

Hi Eden, nice to meet you!
Hi 👋
I am 35, based in the PNW. After 2 years trying, 4 failed IUIs, 1 hysteroscopy/polypectomy, and 1 successful IVF retrieval and transfer, I am 22 weeks pregnant. PCOS + hypothyroidism. Processing healthcare-related trauma from the past year. Really, really happy to be pregnant!
