Too much
I followed the class after coming home from work, and worked out the three questions in the worksheets. I already realized something wild: what I've been calling "losing motivation" my whole life is actually my brain starving for depth and novelty. And the belief that I'm "too much" started with one sentence from my mother that I've been carrying for decades.

My father's words have haunted me for decades and caused my fear of rejection and abandonment 🤬 I hope that now I have awareness I can change and get a grip of my RSD šŸ¤ž
How old?
Just wondering how old people were when they discovered they had ADHD. I am 58 and I have found out more about myself and why I feel the way I do which is an eye opener. I think my dad may also have ADHD and he is 87. I don’t know if it’s something that he would be interested in but he does have some of the ā€œtraitsā€ I just wondered if there are people older than 87 who have just discovered themselves.

Discoverd I have ADHD last year at 60 after a terrible "burn out" situation that absolutely floored me. Months in bed crying and unable to function at all 😪 I'm struggling with depression alongside my ADHD which is really shit cos even the small tasks aren't giving me any dopamine rewards šŸ˜”
Make peace with it or ..
.. fight it? I'm not a social person in the 'normal' sense. As primarily an ADD'er I'm very much in my head and my attention span is not as such that I can be at the same (mental) spot for a continuously long time. My message with this being that things like a 'reward system' based on continuously being active in the same spot is not durable to me. No matter the price. Sure a part of me wants to 'game' but some moments later it's forgotten. :-D Maybe I can overcome this at some point in time but for now I 'make peace' with it. My energy and focus now is directed primarily on the '5 days challenge'. By making peace with 'it' I also overcome being triggered by possible 'unfair feelings'. But otherwise I think it's a great opportunity for those who can compete or play the reward game. I'm rooting for you. :-) We are being honest and raw here. What is your take on this? :-)

I also have a block when it comes to feeling any reward for doing anything. AI has just told me to see my GP for depression and specifically Anhedonia as its a condition where the reward system shuts down completely šŸ˜” so at least I now have an explanation behind why the achievement of small tasks isn't working for me. I'm going to try " making peace" with this reason for not feeling rewards and stop telling my self "I'm a faliure". It's now just another condition I need to treat to get to my goal of feeling like a whole person šŸ¤ž
Day one 3 questions on AI.
I've just done my 3 questions and it's told me that I have depression along side my ADHD. It says anhedonia to be precise. It's when the reward system is not just running on low like it does in ADHD in general but that it's completely shut down šŸ˜– I guess that's why I can't seem to get anywhere even when I do some small tasks, I just don't feelany reward at all šŸ˜” I'm already on an antidepressant but only a very small dose as they are being cautious around "Seratonin syndrome". I'm going to ask my GP for help tomorrow and see if they can increase my doseage šŸ¤ž
