Hey guys, I started a second project for my portfolio. This is the first render I created. Please review if you have time. Thanks! Modeling: Cinema 4D Rendering: Octane

@Nikita Kapustin Thanks for the nice comments! If you say it's good, then I am safe to move to the next render. πŸ˜… And sure, I will share more work as I progress.
Final Image
Image 1 is the final image after a little photoshop processing. Image 2 is the render from C4d and before photoshop. So thats the Iphone Masterclass cousre finished. Its taken a while but thats because (a) Im slow and (b) @Nikita Kapustin goes into great depth on all aspects of 3d image making form start to finish. And even though this is a very structured cousre there's lots of scope to follow your own idea and create your own image. Im pleased with my final image and know that it could be better but, the goal here for me was to learn new techniques and pracitce what I already know (not a lot) with guidnace from a pro. I have learned so much from the course and can now go into the next pahse, modelling and rendering wathces, with a lot more confidence and knowledge. If anyone is an any doubt about taking the course, I suggerst you put the doubt aside and get cracking. Bring on the chalenges. Wohoo!!

Congratulations on completing the course! I'm not sure if your goal was to simply learn or to create a complete, ready-to-use image, but here are a few points I'd like to share. The iPhone model and the rendering techniques used on it look fantastic! However, I do have some feedback on the environment textures. The texture used for the sky appears to have a very low resolution, and the rocks look quite flat and two-dimensional. To address this, you can try combining some small and some bigger textures in the bump and normal channels. You can find some great textures on CC0 textures (free), and on Bridge (free for non-commercial use). This might help add depth and detail. The same goes for the other assetsβ€”they could benefit from reflections and smaller textures to better showcase their surfaces when light reflects on them. Additionally, I suggest finding a few more variations of grass 3D models (also find on Bridge) and placing more of them around the phone. You can find many helpful tutorials on YouTube for creating ground with different types of grass using Octane. (ex. JPierce Display Land / C4D Octane Tutorial) I hope these suggestions prove helpful to you. Keep up the good work!

After taking on board Nikitas advice here are my renders. This is straight out of C4d with no photoshop. I am very pleased with how they look and also know I can improve them with render passes and photoshop but wanted to keep within C4d’s tools to understand how it can work.

Hi there, great job on your results! I haven't had a chance to watch Nikita's feedback, so I apologize if I mention something similar. However, I'd like to share a few points with you. The leather texture appears a bit too strong. It has too much bump and contrast compared to the plastic parts. Additionally, the metal parts, like the logo, seem too bright and almost emit light. To give them a more metallic look, I suggest using some gradients. You can explore 'light linking' techniques to make this. Regarding the plastic, it could benefit from some subtle textures. One approach is to use very small sized Octane noise in the bump channel. These adjustments may help enhance the overall appearance.Keep up the great work!
